Embario upcycles fishing nets discarded in the Indian Ocean to produce a recycled-based polyamide called "Acron Re-Purpose." The fishing nets are collected, cleaned, and processed using local labor, and are transformed into glass fiber reinforced recycled-based polyamide. This material is used by major automotive manufacturers in the United States and in products such as mobile phones and office chairs in South Korea. *Polyamide is a type of synthetic resin, primarily used in the production of fibers and plastic products, and is commonly known as nylon. Polyamides are known for their excellent abrasion resistance and durability, as well as flexibility and heat resistance. They are widely used in the manufacture of textiles and tires, and are applied in plastic forms for mechanical and automotive parts.
