This equipment conducts accelerated weather resistance tests using a xenon type. By artificially creating an environment that exposes materials to sunlight, it is possible to perform weather resistance tests that promote degradation even more than in natural environments. Weather resistance refers to the resistance to degradation primarily caused by sunlight, rain, snow, temperature, humidity, and ozone in the natural environment. To evaluate this, it is necessary to conduct outdoor exposure tests or accelerated weather resistance tests using artificial light sources. The xenon weather meter used at JTL is a type of accelerated weather resistance testing machine, utilizing a light source (xenon lamp) that closely approximates the spectral irradiance distribution of ultraviolet and visible light from sunlight. It is capable of conducting weather resistance tests on paints (JIS K 5600-7-7), building materials (JIS A 1415), plastics (JIS K 7350-2), coatings, printed materials, textiles, and more, complying with various standards such as JIS, ISO, and JASO.

【Xenon Lamp Approximating Sunlight】 Xenon lamps have a spectral radiation intensity distribution that approximates sunlight, allowing for tests that more accurately reproduce sunlight exposure. 【High-Intensity Type with Radiation Intensity of 60–180W/m²】 It also supports high-intensity tests with ultraviolet radiation intensity approximately three times that of sunlight (180W/m²), enabling more effective evaluations. 【Evaluation of Color, Gloss, and Haze Before and After Testing】 As part of the evaluation of the test specimens before and after testing, it is possible to assess color, gloss, and haze using a colorimeter, gloss meter, and haze meter.
