It is equivalent to 400 lines of high precision. The density is about twice that of AM printing. Since it does not have a screen angle, rosette patterns do not occur. Even for items previously printed with AM, you can specify FM printing when reordering. Because the dots are finer, the optical dot gain increases and fills in the paper's whiteness, making it less affected by the whiteness of the paper, which can cause muddiness. Lines other than black and angled lines can also be printed beautifully. Gradations are expressed smoothly. Screenshots of manuals and other materials will have improved visibility. It is also recommended for industrial printed materials. Microscopic photos and images of archaeological sites are reproduced in detail. Since there are no jagged lines in map printing, visibility is improved. It is possible to print colors close to spot colors or with high saturation. This is because the smaller the dots, the more light is generated around them. In some cases, printed materials specified in spot colors can be done with CMYK inks. Micro text printing is possible. On high-quality paper, text as small as 1pt and on coated paper, text as small as 0.5pt will not be blurred. (The minimum font size that can be specified in Office Word is 1pt.) It also has value for use in the backing of documents that need to be counterfeit-proof.
