High NA fiber compatible short wavelength O/E converter SPA series
SPA-1、SPA-2 650nm、SPA-3、SPA-4
Ideal for increasing the NA of fibers centered around plastic fiber.
In the SPD series, in order to capture emitted light from a fiber with as large a diameter as possible while using a PD with a small light-receiving diameter, the reduction ratio of the light-receiving optical system was set to 0.4 times. This allowed for the projection of emitted light from a fiber with a core diameter of 500 [µm] onto a PD light-receiving surface with a diameter of 0.2 [mm]. As a result, the maximum fiber NA value that could be received was limited to 0.25. In the SPA series, by changing the reduction ratio of the light-receiving optical system to 0.8 times, the maximum receiving NA was increased to 0.5. For example, using a PD with a receiving diameter of 0.8 [mm] in the SPA-2 at 650 nm, we successfully captured emitted light from a plastic fiber with a core diameter of 1 [mm] and NA=0.5, while maintaining a bandwidth from DC to 1.0 [GHz] during O/E conversion.
