Self-lubricating composite materials for high-temperature atmospheric and underwater use.
NF Metal (Melon Wood, Orange Wood)
Lubricating materials that can be used up to 800°C in the atmosphere. They are also being used in seawater and chemical reaction tanks.
F metal is inexpensive because it can be manufactured through vacuum sintering without using hot pressing. Its characteristics are as follows: 1. It has good machinability, allowing for various applications in parts. 2. It can be used in the atmosphere up to 800°C. 3. Depending on the counterpart material, load, and speed, the friction coefficient is generally around 0.1 to 0.2. 4. It has a very low specific wear rate (10-8 mm³/kg·mm). 5. It demonstrates excellent corrosion resistance to weak acids, organic acids, seawater, and alkalis. 6. It can also be supplied in the form of ball bearings. For applications as ball bearings, please search and refer to "Vacuum and High-Temperature Bearings" on this site.

basic information
NF Metal (Daitsu material, Orange material) is expanding its applications as a lubricating material for vacuum and high-temperature use. NF Metal is a sintered alloy that disperses solid lubricants within a metal matrix. By selecting solid lubricants and metal types, materials suitable for atmospheric and high-temperature conditions can be produced. For high-temperature use in the atmosphere, NF Metal (Melon material) has been developed. It is typically used incorporated into sliding bearings or ball bearings. Melon material is a composite made by combining graphite and boron nitride (BN) as solid lubricants through a special method, and dispersing it within a nickel alloy. While sulfides and graphite alone oxidize and wear out in high-temperature atmospheric conditions, the oxidation wear of the composite solid lubricant is minimal. Furthermore, due to the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the nickel alloy, it can be used not only in atmospheric and high-temperature conditions but also as a lubricating material in water and chemical reaction vessels. It maintains lubrication properties across a temperature range from low temperatures (-100°C) to high temperatures (approximately 800°C).

Company information
We are exploring new materials with a focus on heat-resistant materials, using vacuum and heat as keywords. In particular, we are concentrating on the sales of high-temperature self-lubricating composite material "NF Metal" and its application products (such as sliding bearings and ball bearings) among materials for vacuum equipment. NF Metal is a sintered alloy that disperses various solid lubricants in a metal matrix. It is a super material that does not lose its lubrication performance up to 800°C in a vacuum. Since it is currently only applied in a limited number of vacuum devices, we are working to expand its applications. If there are lubrication issues with rotation or sliding in a vacuum, please consider the application of NF Metal. Additionally, NF Metal has also been developed as a material that can be used up to 800°C in the atmosphere by selecting solid lubricants and matrix metals.
