Among the PAEK polymer group, which stands at the pinnacle of high-performance polymers, PEEK is the main player. Its most notable feature is its all-around performance, which truly shines in situations where multiple performance requirements overlap. It is widely adopted as a metal substitute and has recently gained attention from the perspective of the SDGs for its contributions to reducing CO2 emissions in aircraft and automobiles, as well as improving quality of life (QOL) through implant medicine. Victrex is the world's only manufacturer specializing in high-performance PAEK polymer products. Headquartered in the UK with its main production facility, it has the largest production capacity in the world at 7,150 tons. In October 2011, it established the Victrex Japan Technology Center (JTC) in Tokyo, equipped with all-electric injection molding machines, scanning electron microscopes, and Suzuki-type sliding test machines. In collaboration with its UK headquarters and technical base in Shanghai, it provides technical services to Japanese customers at every step of the development process—from concept creation to material selection, component and mold design, and optimization of molding conditions—to fully leverage material performance.
