Functional micro-powder wax additive (Micro Powder Company)

We are expanding innovative functional micro-powder wax additives for various applications such as paints, coatings, printing inks, ceramics, lubricants, and adhesives.

Micro-powder wax additives are additives used as surface modifiers during the formulation design of paints, inks, etc. Various surface modification effects can be expected depending on the properties and particle size of the resin that is micro-powdered. Products from Micro Powder Company can efficiently impart various functionalities due to advanced particle management technology and a rich lineup. Additionally, there are many products derived from natural and biodegradable materials, allowing for technical proposals aimed at developing environmentally friendly new products. During the painting process, the orientation of wax microparticles on the surface of the coating imparts various functions to the surface. To effectively realize these functions, it is important to understand the particle size and the characteristics of each resin to select the appropriate product number. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Combination of water-based paint additives 'Aquaflow' and 'Natrosol'

Recommended combinations for use with water-based paints: 'Aquaflow (non-ionic synthetic associative thickener)' and 'Natrosol (HEC)'.

ASHLAND is known as a specialty chemical manufacturer with approximately 100 years of history. Our company leverages extensive product knowledge and expertise to support our customers in improving manufacturing efficiency and quality. When designing viscosity to achieve appropriate application properties such as brush suitability, brush release, flow, and leveling, Aquaflow is used in combination with Natrosol (HEC) and others. When designing paint formulations, using hydrophobically modified HEC such as Natrosol Plus 330 in medium PVC water-based paints and coatings can improve spattering properties. 【Representative Products】 ■ 'Aquaflow (Non-ionic synthetic associative thickener)' and ■ 'Natrosol (HEC) / Natrosol Plus (Hydrophobic HEC)' 【Representative Properties】 ■ Thickening ■ Leveling ■ Drip prevention

Environmentally friendly water-based paint stripping agent additives (drip prevention: thickening agents, emulsifying stabilizers)

We propose a thickener and emulsifier aimed at stabilizing products for paint removal agents used on the surfaces of architectural structures, preventing dripping (rheology), and improving work efficiency!

The paints applied to the inner and outer surfaces of steel structures such as buildings, highways, and bridges require regular collection, and repairs to the paint film are carried out everywhere. The target paint films and surrounding environments are not the same. Additionally, in order to improve the working environment for operators, protect the global environment (non-organic solvents), and simplify the treatment of peeled paint films, there is a rapid shift towards water-based solutions. Additives that can accommodate various factors such as application methods (spray, brush, roller), pH of the stripping agent, and temperature during application are necessary. Our company can propose additives that stabilize the viscosity of the product itself, reduce dripping on vertical surfaces, and improve various application methods. We handle a wide range of cellulose derivatives and fine powder silica products to meet various needs. 【Applications】 ■ Water-based paint stripping agents 【Representative Products】 ■ MC (Methyl Cellulose) ■ HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) ■ HPC (Hydroxypropyl Cellulose) ■ Fine powder silica products 【Characteristics】 ■ Stable product quality ■ Drip prevention (rheology control) ■ Improvement of work for each application method *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Proposing additives for paints and inks (thickeners, rheology agents, surface modifiers)!

Additives are necessary according to the application, coating method, and film performance. We propose "thickeners, dispersants, rheology agents, and surface modifiers" for paints and inks!

<Additives for Paints and Inks> In addition to the resins (acrylic, epoxy, urethane, silicone, fluorine) that serve as the main materials for the paint film, additives are required according to solvents (water-based, solvent-based), applications (construction (interior, exterior), plastic, metal), coating methods (spray, roller, brush, inkjet, powder), and film performance (durability, slip properties, anti-blocking, gloss adjustment, etc.). 【Thickeners】 Performance: Appropriate viscosity depending on application ■ Water-based: Hydroxyethyl cellulose, xanthan gum (pseudoplastic), tamarind seed gum (Newtonian fluid) ■ Solvent-based: Ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate butyrate 【Rheology Control Agents】 Performance: Thixotropic, rheological improvement, splash resistance, leveling improvement ■ Water-based and solvent-based: Non-ionic synthetic associative thickeners ■ Water-based: Hydrophobic hydroxyethyl cellulose 【Film Performance】 Performance: Durability (abrasion resistance, scratch resistance), slip properties, anti-blocking, gloss adjustment, texture modification ■ Functional fine powder wax additives ■ Microparticles, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene powder *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Water-based paint additive (thickening, drip prevention, paint flow improvement) 'Xanthan Gum'

Xanthan gum is an additive with pseudoplastic properties that contributes to the "low shear flow" and "prevention of sagging after painting" required during painting.

<Thickening Agents for Water-Based Paints> In recent years, paints for construction and other applications have been transitioning from solvent-based to water-based systems due to environmental issues (such as VOC problems). The formulations have also become more complex, and thickening agents used in water-based paints include cellulose-based thickening agents, associative thickening agents, and inorganic types, depending on the characteristics and performance of the paint. <Proposal from MP Gokyo Food & Chemical> We would like to introduce our product, 'Xanthan Gum', as an additive for water-based paints. Xanthan gum is a natural thickening agent with high safety, possessing pseudoplastic properties, and is a natural fermented polysaccharide. This document includes comparative data from our technical department on other thickening agents (basic performance and when added to clear paint). 【Representative Products】 ■ 'Monart Gum DA and HP' ■ 'Labore Gum GS-C' 【Expectations for Water-Based Paints】 ■ Generates sufficient viscosity even at low addition levels ■ Good paint flow at low shear ■ Prevents sagging after application ■ No viscosity changes in paint due to temperature variations in winter or summer 【This document provides comparative evaluations for clear paints】 ■: Viscosity, sag resistance, film haze ■ Temperature dependence of clear viscosity *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Proposing fine particle and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene for the modification of the sliding properties of rubber coating films.

We propose the use of fine particles and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene as additives for rubber coatings in automotive rubber parts, cameras, and office automation equipment to improve lubricity and enhance durability.

High-slip paint is used in sliding parts of automobiles, cameras, and office automation equipment, and recently, interest has been increasing due to the growing demand for noise reduction. This product can lower the friction coefficient of the paint film surface and improve the durability of the paint film by adding it as a sliding modifier to the paint. Additionally, it can achieve a matte finish and modify tactile properties. It is adopted in many substrates such as urethane-based, acrylic-based, and epoxy-based, and can be used not only in solvent-based paints but also in water-based paints with just a small amount of dispersant. Powder coating can also be selected as a painting method. Conventional ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) has a large particle size of over 100μ, making it unsuitable for use as an additive. However, this product can reduce the particle size to a minimum of 10μ, allowing the high sliding properties and durability of UHMWPE to be imparted to the paint. 【Expected Functions】 - Sliding properties - Quietness (noise reduction) - Wear resistance and durability (alternative to PTFE) - Matte finish effect - Suitable for food-related use (compliant with FDA standards and Polyethylene Association standards) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
