A super high-rise intelligent office building located close to Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station. Due to excessive sunlight, heat insulation measures were a challenge. Therefore, we adopted Akari na C※ Reflect and Hybrid. The break area required a balance between heat insulation performance and design to create a calm space. Since Akari na C can be printed, we printed rustic wood patterns on the Reflect and arranged them randomly. The printed surface is so intricately designed that it looks like real wood at first glance, while the back remains the white color of the Reflect. The Akari-na C has been adopted in a high-grade office building equipped with features such as new seismic standards, energy-saving and environmental considerations, power supply from a generator during power outages, ventilation capacity of the air conditioning system being 1.5 times the usual, and the use of non-contact switches in all elevators. Akari-na C reduces lighting usage, enhances air conditioning efficiency to lower cooling costs, and is highly durable, thus reducing maintenance costs. The frequency of replacements is decreased, leading to a reduction in waste. Furthermore, the CO2 emissions during production are about half that of typical aluminum blinds. How did blinds come to be in the first place? In fact, they have a long history! Let's trace that history as a fun fact about blinds.

1. What is the origin of blinds? It is said that the prototype of blinds was created about 5,000 years ago during the era of the Egyptian Pharaohs. They used screens made of reeds (ashi) woven together with fibers to block strong sunlight, and they were hung at doorways and windows to avoid prying eyes and improve ventilation. 2. When was the horizontal blind born? The prototype of horizontal blinds is said to have originated in Venice, Italy. In the water city of Venice, it was necessary to block not only the sunlight pouring down from above but also the light reflecting off the water from below. Thus, the prototype of horizontal blinds, known as "Venetian blinds," was created to block both types of light. (The very popular horizontal blinds "Beneal" from Toso are also derived from "Venetian" and "Aluminum" blinds!) 3. What are modern blinds like? Originally, blinds were intended for commercial use, such as in offices, but around 1965, blinds for home use began to be sold. Nowadays, there are various types of blinds made from materials such as aluminum, wood, and fabric. With changes in housing conditions, the design and functionality have expanded, and they are now widely adopted in many households.

The Akalina daylight blinds propose a "daylight system" that brings natural light indoors while overcoming its weaknesses, creating a comfortable indoor environment. Feature 1: Bright Indoor Spaces with Natural Light The Akalina daylight blinds are made from a material that excels in diffusion, converting direct sunlight from outside into diffused light that enters the room. The light transformed into diffused light spreads horizontally and vertically within the room, illuminating the entire space, including the ceiling, with a soft and gentle glow. Feature 2: Excellent Durability and Safety The slats of Akalina, made from resin material, are very soft and will not bend or break. Because of the soft material, there is no risk of injury, making it safe for children and the elderly. Additionally, the resin material is infused with an anti-static agent, making it resistant to dust and easy to maintain. For tough stains, it can be easily wiped with a mild detergent. Feature 3: Energy Efficiency By utilizing daylight, indoor lighting can be reduced. Reducing lighting also cuts down on the heat emitted from lighting fixtures. This reduction in indoor heat lessens the load on air conditioning, creating an energy-saving cycle within the office.
