Back number [June 2023 Newsletter] Sustainability Products

We are working daily to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. Here is an introduction to sustainability and related products.

1. Energy-saving products It is said that the overwhelming majority of the hot summer heat enters through "windows." Blinds not only beautify the window area but also enhance insulation and contribute to energy savings! Additionally, we offer curtain rails that are carbon footprint certified, striving to reduce energy consumption while promoting energy conservation through innovative window treatments. 2. Products made from environmentally friendly raw materials and materials We are working to improve material waste by adopting planned reforestation wood and laminated wood for our wood blinds, striving for the efficient use of resources. We actively adopt environmentally friendly raw materials and materials, such as expanding the use of non-toxic materials and products that comply with green purchasing standards (products made with over 25% recycled PET fibers by weight).

Back Number [August 2023 Newsletter] The History of Blinds

How did blinds come to be in the first place? In fact, they have a long history! Let's trace that history as a fun fact about blinds.

1. What is the origin of blinds? It is said that the prototype of blinds was created about 5,000 years ago during the era of the Egyptian Pharaohs. They used screens made of reeds (ashi) woven together with fibers to block strong sunlight, and they were hung at doorways and windows to avoid prying eyes and improve ventilation. 2. When was the horizontal blind born? The prototype of horizontal blinds is said to have originated in Venice, Italy. In the water city of Venice, it was necessary to block not only the sunlight pouring down from above but also the light reflecting off the water from below. Thus, the prototype of horizontal blinds, known as "Venetian blinds," was created to block both types of light. (The very popular horizontal blinds "Beneal" from Toso are also derived from "Venetian" and "Aluminum" blinds!) 3. What are modern blinds like? Originally, blinds were intended for commercial use, such as in offices, but around 1965, blinds for home use began to be sold. Nowadays, there are various types of blinds made from materials such as aluminum, wood, and fabric. With changes in housing conditions, the design and functionality have expanded, and they are now widely adopted in many households.

Back Number [January 2025 Newsletter] Race-Equipped Vertical Blinds

New Product: Vertical Blinds with Lace Released

Toso has released the lace-embellished vertical blind "Dual Twin." This vertical blind combines functionality and design, allowing soft light to enter while blocking outside views. It offers a comfortable space. - Mechanism to Block Views By placing lace slats between the drape slats, it is possible to let in soft light during the day while blocking outside views. Additionally, the mechanism allows the drape and lace to rotate together, enabling easy operation to maintain privacy while adjusting the slat angle for optimal lighting. It is a style that can be confidently recommended even in spaces where privacy is a concern. - Dedicated Lace Slats Available The dedicated lace slat "Rire" is an excellent fabric that combines heat-blocking performance with a mirror effect, achieving both functionality and beauty. While blocking outside views, it allows soft light to enter the room, creating a pleasant space while protecting privacy. Furthermore, the heat-blocking effect helps reduce summer heat, promoting an eco-friendly and comfortable lifestyle.
