Polishing curved brisk surfaces with robots! A game changer for the aerospace industry.

An end effector that enables automation systems for high-speed processing and high-quality finishing of skilled techniques (polishing, grinding) and hazardous tasks that have been given up until now.

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) generated during polishing and grinding processes, which require skilled techniques, at high speed. This technology allows for consistent polishing/grinding at the set contact force, unaffected by variations in processing speed or gravitational load differences due to angles. With the end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology, it instantly and automatically compensates for changes in dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces by rapidly adjusting the stroke, maintaining contact with the workpiece at the set force. This technology can increase the speed of the equipment and the robot's trajectory, thereby improving processing speed and cycle time. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the contact pressure through the extension and contraction of its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, it automatically compensates for tool load variations caused by gravity due to the robot's angle, ensuring a consistent contact pressure from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.

Robot polishing/polishing automation game changer! Exhibiting at IREX.

Achieving the automation of skilled tasks such as polishing and grinding, which have been deemed impossible, along with cycle time reduction and high-quality finishing. Multiple types of robot cells on display!

An end effector using our unique technology (Autonomous Contact Force Correction Technology (ACT)) has made it possible to automate skilled tasks such as polishing and grinding, which were previously considered impossible, while achieving shorter cycle times and high-quality finishes. It autonomously corrects the contact force in response to variations in workpiece dimensions and other changes in the processing target, enabling processing with uniform contact force. Gravity correction is also performed autonomously, applying uniform contact force regardless of angle, and easily maintaining finishing quality for workpieces with R shapes and more. Additionally, due to the high correction speed, even when the robot's trajectory speed is increased, the contact force can be kept constant, allowing for processing and achieving reduced cycle times. 2023 International Robot Exhibition Venue: Tokyo Big Sight Dates: November 29 (Wed) - December 2 (Sat), 2023 Booth: W3-36 You can see the world's technology up close.
