[Useful Information] Deburring of Surface Treatment Steel Plates

To alleviate the customer's concerns, we conducted sample experiments and salt spray tests!

For those in the sheet metal industry considering deburring of sheet metal products, the primary concern is likely that deburring surface-treated steel plates will cause the surface treatment to peel off, isn't it? In response, Authentec conducted sample experiments. The results proved that the physical condition of the surface-treated steel plates after deburring is almost equivalent to their condition before deburring. However, to address the concerns that one cannot feel assured until it is confirmed that "rust does not occur," we also conducted a salt spray test on the same product. Here is a case study of fine burr removal from precision parts. We received a request for burr removal from a precision press-cut plate with a thickness of 0.3mm, featuring a φ5.5 hole at the center of a 17x17 square. The burr around the φ5.5 hole measured 4 to 5μm in height. If stacked as is, the hole area would slightly bulge, resulting in an uneven height and failing to achieve the desired characteristics. Therefore, we removed only the burr without causing warping or distortion, and without scratching the flat surface. Additionally, we were able to remove large burrs caused by die chipping in the same plate, measuring 520μm in width, 65μm in depth, and 15μm in height, by matching the media and processing conditions. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

NORDBO: Use Case - Deburring Holes

Automating the deburring of holes in machined parts using the SCHUNK deburring tool "R-EMENDO" and Universal Robots.

For this case, we visited our German tool partner, SCHUNK. We visited their CoLab and conducted mutual testing of their material removal application tools, the R-EMENDO series, and Mimic. We focused on deburring with robots. As demonstrated in the video below, Mimic can shape items accurately and effectively without using code. The robot simply follows the movements of the operator's hand. By automating this process, we can improve the overall productivity of the manufacturing process, even without programming skills.
