Completed while keeping both the delivery time and costs down! Here we present a case study of processing SK85 (SK5 / carbon tool steel).

This time, we will introduce a case of blank cutting and simple mold creation using a wire electrical discharge machine. Since the material is SK85 (SK5 / carbon tool steel), choosing laser cutting raises concerns about hardening of the cross-section due to heat during processing, which may lead to the occurrence of fine cracks. Therefore, we performed blank cutting using wire electrical discharge machining, which has minimal thermal impact, thereby addressing this concern. What is fine hole discharge machining that does more than just create holes?

What is fine hole processing for cooling? Oblique hole processing is possible for aircraft parts and turbine blades.

The hole used to intake air for cooling the main body of the product is called a "cooling hole."
