In magnetic particle testing, it is essential to carefully manage the concentration of magnetic particles in the inspection liquid. According to JIS, the concentration of magnetic particles in the inspection liquid is expressed as the volume of the sediment of magnetic particles contained in a unit volume of the inspection liquid (100 mL). By placing the inspection liquid in a sedimentation gauge and allowing it to stand for 30 minutes, the concentration of magnetic particles can be measured by directly reading the scale of the sedimentation amount. Generally, the volume of magnetic particles contained in 100 mL is approximately 0.09 to 0.2 cc for fluorescent magnetic particles and about 1.7 to 2.4 cc for non-fluorescent wet methods. Case Studies of Demonstration Tests Using PVT Detectors

We are publishing a demonstration experiment using a PVT detector!

This case study collection presents the demonstration tests of a pass-through decontamination waste and radioactivity measurement device using a PVT detector, conducted by a company that imports and sells various products including radiation measurement devices, X-ray non-destructive testing equipment, goniometers, X-ray optical instruments, as well as freezers and bio-sample refrigerators. In the decontamination project following the nuclear power plant accident, tests were conducted with the aim of quickly sorting and reducing the large amounts of contaminated waste generated, measuring the radiation concentration, and moving it to intermediate storage facilities. The PTV detector was installed in a spatial dose rate field of 0.35-0.4 μSv/hr, which is close to actual installation conditions, to demonstrate the performance of the device. As a result of the demonstration tests, it was confirmed that stable results could be obtained by measuring accident shielding and standard samples (samples taken from the material and quantitatively analyzed using Ge or NaI) according to the vehicles passing after installation, and calculating the conversion counts.
