Salt Bath Heat Treatment
Uniform and with minimal distortion! Salt bath heat treatment capable of handling a wide range from mass-produced items to individual pieces.
"Salt bath heat treatment" is a heat treatment method where a salt bath made primarily from potassium chloride and sodium chloride is heated to high temperatures, and products are immersed in it for quenching and tempering. Compared to conventional gas methods, it offers a uniform finish with minimal distortion, and because the treatment is conducted in an open furnace, it can accommodate a wide range of products from mass-produced items to single pieces. At Meinetsu, the focus is primarily on neutral salt bath quenching and carburizing quenching, but there are plans to expand into quenching of high-speed steel (HSS). It is suitable for carburizing quenching and tempering of automotive parts, as well as salt bath quenching and tempering (submersion quenching) for springs, flat springs, and mold tooling. 【Features】 ■ Uniform finish with minimal distortion ■ Carburizing quenching possible from 0.1mm to 1.0mm ■ Wide range of compatibility from mass-produced items to single pieces ■ Treatment conducted in an open furnace, unlike batch furnaces
