The principle of rain protection lies in colliding raindrops carried by wind blowing from left to right against the blades, transforming them into a water film due to the surface tension of the water, and causing them to fall. Only the rain directed towards the upper rain protection limit point in Figure 3 will collide with the inner blades. Rain coming from the front or below will be blocked by the outer blades. The rain that enters will fall through the central drainage outlet and be drained to the outside. This drainage outlet is slightly separated from the wall, so it does not dirty the wall even after years of use.

Principle of snow prevention

It shows the principle of snow protection for the IKP louver.

The principle of snow prevention involves installing snow-deflecting blades on the front of the IKP louver, raising the snow prevention wrap height, and preventing snow from blowing in from the front. The height of the large hood is diversified by the shape of the blades. Photo 4 shows the appearance of the IKP louver with snow-deflecting blades attached. Photo 5 depicts the situation during snowfall, where snow naturally falls off once it accumulates to a certain extent. Due to the angle of the photograph being from below, the front appears to be in a closed state because of the snow accumulation; however, in reality, it is in the situation shown in Figure 4, and the intake is hardly hindered. Additionally, in cases where a large amount of air is drawn in by fans or similar devices, the snow carried by the suction airflow collides with the IKP louver, causing the snow crystals to break apart and appear as diamond dust of less than 1 mm, which is then brought inside. As shown in Photo 5 and Figure 4, the intrusion of blown snow was effectively blocked. The snow carried in diamond dust form by the intake airflow came into contact with the rear filter and turned into water. By installing a water collection bucket between the rear filter of the IKP louver, the dead milk from the snow itself was effectively prevented.

We would like to introduce a case study of exterior construction handled by Okju. The Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store, New Building, consists of a total of 12 floors, including 2 basement levels and 10 above ground. It inherits the classical atmosphere of the main building while boasting a design and functionality that rival it. In particular, the decorative unit panels installed on the exterior of the top floor, which were constructed by our company, serve as a significant visual accent. Due to the volume and construction period, we repeatedly examined the construction methods, and combined vertical aluminum louvers and horizontal aluminum spandrels into large panels during the manufacturing process. These were then suspended using a large crane, and installation was carried out from the inside, which helped shorten the construction period and reduce external scaffolding. We would like to introduce the construction case of a station handled by Okju. In the railway industry, pigeon damage to station buildings and platform roofs is a very serious problem. This time, West Japan Railway Company requested a finish using ceiling base materials, and as a result of development considerations, we adopted the "MB Louver," which can prevent pigeons from entering the ceiling interior. It is an extremely simple single-slope line louver composed of two types of components: the louver body using ceiling battens and the stringer.
