We will introduce examples of machining with DC end mills, including the wear condition of the cutting edge after processing!
We would like to introduce a machining example of the "DC End Mill" that we handle.
In User Company A's mold department, machining was conducted using the currently used end mill along with cutting conditions, depth of cut, and machine to observe the tool wear state.
The currently used end mill A required a tool change after 1.5 hours of machining, but after testing the "DCB2100," it was able to machine for 3.0 hours with minimal tool wear, allowing for a total of 4.5 hours of machining. After reviewing the photos taken post-machining, formal adoption was decided.
【Overview】
■ Tool used: DCB2100
■ Specs: R5×18×100L
■ Material being machined: S50C (HRC35)
■ Spindle speed: 7370 min^-1
■ Feed rate: 300 mm/min
