What is FSSC22000 Ver.6?

We will clearly explain the newly added requirements and changes!

The international standard for food safety management systems, FSSC 22000, was significantly revised in April 2023 as Ver. 6. This revision represents an important change aimed at addressing the globalization of the food industry and new food safety risks. For food manufacturing companies looking to expand overseas, adapting to FSSC 22000 Ver. 6 is an unavoidable challenge for maintaining and strengthening international competitiveness. Organizations that have already obtained FSSC 22000 certification must complete their transition by the end of March 2025, while organizations aiming for new certification are required to obtain certification under the new version (FSSC 22000 Ver. 6). This article will clearly explain the key changes in FSSC 22000 Ver. 6 and their practical implications, providing necessary information for companies considering certification. *For more detailed information, please refer to the link below.*

Surface Roughness Measurement Data Collection System [Measurement System Development Case]

A case where we proposed a device for scanning measurement surfaces and a data analysis device!

We would like to introduce a case study of our proposal for surface roughness measurement to a measurement equipment manufacturer. The company expressed a desire to measure surface roughness using a laser displacement sensor, as well as to confirm roughness parameters (Rz, Ry, Sm) and save measurement data while transporting the measurement equipment. We proposed a device that scans the measurement surface using a combination of a motor, encoder, and slider, along with a data analysis device created from a general-purpose RX microcontroller board, a general-purpose case, and an LCD. A prototype has been delivered and is currently in use. [Case Overview (Partial)] ■Requirements - To measure surface roughness using a laser displacement sensor - To confirm roughness parameters (Rz, Ry, Sm) while transporting the measurement equipment - To save measurement data *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Confront the vibrations and sounds around you! - Discern the good from the bad -

Keywords: seismic resistance, seismic isolation, vibration isolation, sound, brain waves, electromyography, sports

The research fields are broad, including quiet engineering, seismic and vibration engineering, acoustics, sports engineering, and bioinformatics. In general, the research focuses on vibrations, sounds, and movements. Vibrations and sounds exist in our daily lives. Some of them can be harmful to us, while others enrich our lives. For example, the earthquakes that have been frequent in recent years have caused damage to people and structures. Additionally, harmful vibrations and noise are generated in factories, automobiles, railways, aircraft, and countless other sources. On the other hand, there are also many applications that utilize vibrations. Various uses of vibrations include transportation, rock drilling machines, and in the realm of sound, music and alarm sounds, among others. Harmful vibrations and sounds should be reduced, while usable vibrations and sounds should be effectively utilized. This requires understanding their characteristics through observation and measurement, modeling and simulation, as well as establishing design guidelines and evaluating human perception and sensitivity. Currently, research is being conducted on increasing rigidity by twisting thin plates and evaluating human comfort using brain waves.

Exploring the function of cell membranes through the movement of lipids!

Keywords: Cell membrane, biophysical chemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy measurement, fluorescence correlation spectroscopy, lipid bilayer.

The smallest structural unit of living organisms is the cell, which is covered by a cell membrane primarily composed of a lipid bilayer. This cell membrane functions as a barrier that separates the internal environment of the cell from the outside, while also contributing to the maintenance of life by allowing the uptake of molecules from the external environment as needed. In the special physiological functions of this cell membrane, the physical properties of the lipid bilayer, particularly its dynamics, are very important, and we believe that understanding the movement of lipids within the lipid bilayer will deepen our understanding of the cell membrane. In our laboratory, we are developing and applying new fluorescence spectroscopy methods to precisely analyze the movement of lipids within the lipid bilayer. We are conducting research daily with the aim of understanding the extraordinary functions of living organisms from the movements of small molecules that are invisible to the naked eye.

Freely portable custom-ordered existing measuring instruments.

Introducing the benefits of taking existing measuring instruments outside for measurements!

Measuring instruments, which play an important role in various fields, are used in manufacturing and industrial production to ensure product quality through accurate data collection of chemical components and environmental conditions, as well as analysis and judgment based on that data. While measuring instruments are often installed in the same environment or location to detect data trends and slight changes, there are also benefits to taking them outside for operation. For example, by bringing measuring instruments to the field, it is possible to collect real-time data based on the environment and conditions, leading to the acquisition of realistic data that cannot be obtained in laboratories or research facilities. Furthermore, the ability to measure in different locations and conditions increases the number of cases that can be addressed, thereby expanding the application range of measuring instruments. Additionally, bringing measuring instruments to the field allows for rapid response when issues such as abnormalities are detected, enabling the identification of causes on-site and immediate implementation of countermeasures. *For detailed content of the article, please refer to the related links. [Column] What is the 4-20mA output of measuring instruments? Is calibration necessary?

Even when the measurement value is 0, it outputs 4mA, and in the case of a disconnection, it becomes 0mA, making it easy to identify abnormalities!

The 4-20mA output is a type of analog output that outputs a current range from 4mA to 20mA, representing 0 to 100%. It is widely used as a standard analog output in measurement instruments due to the numerous advantages listed below: - It outputs 4mA even when the measurement value is 0, and it becomes 0mA in case of a disconnection, making abnormalities easy to identify. - There is no attenuation over long distances of several hundred meters (in the case of voltage output, the longer the distance, the more it attenuates due to resistance). - It is more resistant to noise compared to voltage signals. - Conversion to 1-5V is easy. For these reasons, it is adopted in many devices. *For detailed content of the column, you can view it through the related links. For more information, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
