(1) Overview Translation support tools are programs that automatically retrieve reusable past translations from a database of paired source texts and translations known as translation memory (TM). The translation is ultimately performed by humans, and this is entirely different from AI translation, where computers perform the translation. Trados Studio, developed and sold by RWS, is a representative translation support tool, but tools like Memsource are also becoming widely used. Not all translators use translation support tools.
