This is a stepping servo that has been equipped with an encoder to achieve precision comparable to that of a servo motor. It has a proven track record of use in inspection machines.
It can operate without a higher-level controller by using dedicated software.
By using servo control, it provides high-precision feedback of position and speed information, enabling high-precision positioning and smooth operation without loss of steps.
During operation, it moves steadily through servo control. When stopping, it combines servo control and stepping control to stop at the targeted position without hunting.
Due to the absence of hunting, there are many successful applications in tabletop inspection machines. As shown in the related video on this page, the completion signal for positioning is sent from the driver to the camera, allowing for simple inspections using only the Si servo 3 and the camera.
