[Case Study] Permeable Blast Furnace Slag Paving Material 'Color Sand'

Permeable and water-retaining paving material "Color Sand" has been reintroduced to Akebono Children's Forest Park!

In 1997, shortly after the establishment of Sanwa Grand Co., Ltd., our colored sand was adopted at "Akebono Children's Forest Park" in Hannō City, Saitama Prefecture. This park received the Minister of Construction Award at the 14th Urban Park Competition. Since then, it has been introduced to many people as a representative example of our adopted sites. About 20 years later, during the renewal, permeable and water-retaining colored sand was once again chosen for the park path paving. 【Features】 ■ Excellent permeability, water retention, and freeze resistance ■ Over 80% recycling rate due to the use of aggregates specified in the Green Purchasing Law ■ Meets the "surface requirements" needed for sidewalks and bicycle paths ■ Over 1,500 adoption cases in "public works" ordered by municipalities nationwide *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Permeable blast furnace slag paving material "Color Sand"

Perfect for green infrastructure initiatives! This paving material boasts excellent durability, along with permeability, water retention, and aesthetic appeal.

The efforts for green infrastructure in the park shown in the photo have been recognized. The permeable and water-retaining paving material 'Color Sand' utilizes 'blast furnace crushed slag,' an aggregate with a fine porous structure, achieving high permeability and water retention. Depending on environmental conditions, its durability is approximately 15 to 20 years. It has a texture close to that of soil, making it easy to blend into natural landscapes as 'slag pavement.' Choosing a gray tone allows it to match urban landscapes as well. It allows rainwater to permeate and return to the ground, alleviating the 'heat island phenomenon' in urban areas. It is designed to minimize puddles and has a high slip resistance, making it easy to walk on even during and after rainfall. [Features] - Excellent functionality (permeability, water retention, freeze resistance, durability, slip resistance) - Uses aggregates specified for procurement under the Green Purchasing Law, with a recycling rate of over 80% - Meets the 'surface requirements' needed for sidewalks and bicycle paths - Over 1,800 instances of adoption in 'public works' ordered by municipalities nationwide - Perfect for the recently highlighted initiatives of 'green infrastructure' (permeability and water retention) ★ Currently, we are offering a 'case study collection' for parks and building exteriors. You can view it immediately via [PDF download].

■Natural Environment Conservation... We will provide products that are friendly to "water" and "green," which are valuable resources in the region, and contribute to disaster reduction. - Permeability - Water retention ■Reduction of Environmental Impact We will offer products made from recycled materials and those that can be used for a long time. - Environmental friendliness - Durability ■User-Friendly... We will provide a safe, secure, and comfortable space for children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. - Universal design - Safety For more details, please see the link below.
