Nickel plating

Supports electroless nickel plating treatment without using electricity!

Takagi Metal specializes in processing using advanced plating technology. We accept plating processing for materials of all sizes, from complex shapes to fine parts and even craft items several meters long. Nickel plating is used in a wide range of fields, from decorative items to electronic components, as various types of base plating. Currently, the most commonly used method is the Watt bath developed by Watt, which can produce matte, semi-gloss, and glossy finishes depending on the type of additives used. We also offer electroless nickel plating, which does not use electricity, allowing for uniform film thickness. This makes it possible to prototype products that require complex shapes and precision. Applications for electroless nickel plating include the chemical machinery industry, electrical and electronic industry, automotive industry, and precision machinery industry. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Rhodium plating

Introduction to rhodium plating, which excels in resistance to hardness, wear, and discoloration.

Takagi Metal specializes in processing using advanced plating technology. We accept plating processing for materials of all sizes, from complex shapes to fine parts and even craft items several meters long. Rhodium plating has the longest history as it excels in hardness, wear resistance, and discoloration resistance, making it ideal for jewelry and all types of decorative applications. Due to its stable contact resistance and high melting point, it is also widely used in electrical and electronic applications. However, because rhodium is the most expensive of the precious metals, its use has been limited to very thin deposits in recent years, except for a few exceptions, and it is often applied over white metals such as nickel and silver. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Gold plating

Introduction to gold plating, which is widely used in decorative items and electronic components.

Takagi Metal specializes in processing using advanced plating technology. We accept plating processing for materials of all sizes, from complex shapes to fine parts, and even for crafts that are several meters long. Gold plating can be done in alkaline, neutral, acidic, and sulfite baths, with various types of plating baths selected according to their applications. Gold plating is characterized by its excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, solderability, and minimal changes in contact resistance over time. Therefore, it is widely used in decorative items and electronic components. When using gold plating for contacts, the issue often arises not from the corrosion of the gold plating itself, but from contamination of the surface or deterioration of the surface condition due to the corrosion of the underlying metal. In such cases, metals similar in properties to gold, such as palladium, are plated onto the underlying metal. Additionally, when high corrosion resistance is required, a sealing treatment is performed as a post-processing step. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Silver plating

Introduction to silver plating that excels in lubricity, seizure prevention, and sealing properties.

Takagi Metal specializes in processing using advanced plating technology. We accept plating processing for materials of all sizes, from complex shapes to fine parts, and even processing for craft items that are several meters long. Silver is widely used for plating due to its excellent electrical conductivity among metals. Its good solderability and bonding properties make it suitable for lead frames, various switches, contacts, terminals, and more. Additionally, its superior lubricity, anti-seizing properties, and sealing capabilities make it commonly used in industrial fields for components such as bearings, coupling parts, and mechanical seals. However, silver has a tendency to oxidize in the air, which can lead to it becoming discolored by trace amounts of sulfides and is prone to migration. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Tin plating

Introduction to tin plating with excellent solderability.

Takagi Metal specializes in processing using advanced plating technology. We accept plating processing for materials of all sizes, not only for complex shapes but also for fine parts and for craft items that can be several meters long. Tin plating has the lowest melting point among metals and is highly excellent for soldering, making it widely used for plating on precision equipment parts (such as connector components) and decorative fixtures. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
