[Case Study] Demonstration Experiment of Structural Monitoring for Office Buildings

It is a system that can span multiple floors in a single hop and network the entire building with multi-hop connectivity.

As a new disaster prevention and mitigation measure, the ability to monitor an entire building across multiple floors using a multi-hop network has been recognized, leading Nishimatsu Construction to adopt the 'sonas x02'. In recent years, structural monitoring that confirms the condition of structures, such as their integrity, by installing vibration sensors has gained attention. Particularly for important buildings that serve as disaster response centers, such as government offices, the installation of vibration sensors is recommended. However, conventional measurement systems typically rely on wired connections for data transfer and power supply, which necessitates wiring work, posing a challenge. In response, the company focused on wireless structural monitoring as a new disaster prevention and mitigation measure, leading to the implementation of a demonstration experiment using this product. With the policy of "starting ventilation when CO2 levels exceed 700ppm and completing it when they drop below 600ppm," we built a system that sends emails to employees requesting ventilation each time CO2 concentration rises, thereby reducing infection risk.
