Quantify the performance of insulation and heat shielding with thermal flow sensors to differentiate from competitors!

Can you promote that insulation performance with numbers? The key to comfort and energy savings is understanding heat flow!

The heat flow sensor provided by Toyota Motor Corporation cannot solely convey the thermal insulation performance of buildings and energy-saving items through temperature alone. The heat flow sensor enables the measurement of slight heat flows that are difficult to measure with conventional methods, contributing to more efficient thermal design. It is an ideal product for solving challenges in architecture, construction, and building materials that require data-driven improvements, such as evaluating the performance of insulation and heat shielding materials and identifying thermal losses in buildings. 【Usage Scenarios】 - Performance evaluation of insulation materials: Accurately assess the performance of existing insulation materials and newly developed insulation materials. - Investigation of building heat loss: Identify areas of heat loss in buildings and assist in renovation plans for energy conservation. - Design of new buildings: Conduct heat flow simulations during the design phase to achieve optimal insulation design. - Renovation of existing buildings: Evaluate the insulation performance after renovation and verify its effectiveness. 【Benefits of Implementation】 - Quantitative evaluation of insulation performance: Enables data-driven assessments, resulting in highly reliable outcomes. - Contribution to energy conservation: Identifying and reducing heat loss leads to a decrease in energy costs. - Efficiency in design and construction: Allows for design and construction based on accurate data.

[Proposal by Toyota Motor Corporation] Heatstroke prevention measures for factories and offices against extreme heat!

Would you like to create a simulation that predicts the cost-effectiveness of heat countermeasure items using heat flow sensors?

On June 1, 2025, with the revision of the Labor Safety and Health Regulations, measures against heat stroke in the workplace became mandatory. A cool and comfortable work environment not only prevents heat stroke but also directly contributes to increased productivity. While there are many heat-related and energy-saving items available, it can be difficult to determine which items to implement and how effective they will be. At Toyota Motor Corporation, we are developing a simulator that utilizes heat flow sensors to predict the cost-effectiveness of heat countermeasure items, working towards the establishment of a comfortable working environment. For specifications of the heat flow sensor "Energy flow," please download the catalog or feel free to contact us. We also welcome inquiries regarding details of heat countermeasure simulations.

Conducting the 'Thermal Design Online Seminar' (co-hosted with the Structural Planning Institute)

An online seminar will be held on August 28 in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation and the Structural Planning Institute.

In this seminar, we will hear from a current designer at a parts manufacturer about "Key Points for Actual Measurements Using Thermocouples and Heat Flow Sensors," and we will introduce Toyota's high-sensitivity heat flow sensor "Energy Flow." Additionally, as a case study for verifying the discrepancies between actual measurements and analysis, we will present the thermal analysis of the heat flow sensor demonstration kit and its considerations. If you are working on verifying discrepancies between actual measurements and analysis, or if you are engaged in building technologies for thermal design, thermal analysis, and thermal measurements, we encourage you to take this opportunity to watch!

[VA/VE Case] U-shaped Bending Fit

A case of developing a bonding method that bends a film sensor into a U-shape!

We would like to introduce a VA/VE case study on "U-shaped bending adhesion" that our company conducted. There was a challenge where the film sensor could not fit within the product size. To accommodate the sensor in the limited space of the capacitive touch panel, bending was necessary, but there was a risk of damage due to the bending. We explored and realized a processing method to avoid the risks of damage from bending and the generation of bubbles caused by joining the bent surfaces. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenge: The film sensor could not fit within the product size. ■Effect: The sensor could be installed within the limited space. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
