Both drying and sintering processes are possible in one operation! Here are examples of utilization using infrared heaters.

Printed electronics and functional coatings are used in wireless IC tags as part of mobile phones and credit cards (smart cards), for anti-counterfeiting, or as security features for ID cards. In the drying and sintering of printed electronics using infrared heaters, infrared can heat at high power without contacting the substrate. High-density sintering

Achieving a high density sintering of 7.5g/cm³ or more.

We have achieved high-density sintering with a sintering density of over 7.5 g/cm³ using our unique powder production technology. Conventional sintering typically has a density limit of around 7.2 g/cm³, which is lower than the density of common steel materials at 7.8 g/cm³, resulting in inferior mechanical properties. On the other hand, while Metal Injection Molding (MIM) achieves a density of over 7.5 g/cm³, it faces challenges such as high shrinkage rates, low dimensional stability, and expensive unit and mold costs. High-density sintering is a new technology that resolves the issues of conventional sintering and MIM by achieving a density of over 7.5 g/cm³, with low shrinkage rates and high dimensional stability, all at a low cost.

Tohoku Univ. Technology: Low temperature sintering of BaTiO3 using sodium vapor: T25-003

PTC thermistors can be fabricated in a simple and cost-effective manner.

Some semiconducting ferroelectric ceramics exhibit positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor behavior, in which their electrical resistivity increases drastically above the Curie temperature. Materials based on perovskite-type barium titanate (BaTiO₃) are widely used as circuit protection devices under conditions of high temperature or large current surges.   Conventional methods to change originally insulating BaTiO₃ powders to semiconductor require highly reducing atmospheres and high sintering temperatures near 1400 ℃.  This invention proposes a low-temperature and cost-effective fabrication method for BaTiO₃-based semiconducting ceramics using sodium (Na) vapor. Grain size control in ceramic products is also possible upon sintering using the present technique.
