Cube-type beam splitter (standard type)

Three types of R/T ratios of 30/70, 50/50, and 70/30 are available at a central wavelength of 550nm. This is a non-polarizing beam splitter.

The TECHSPEC cube beam splitter (non-polarizing type) is composed of two right-angle prisms. A suitable optical thin film is deposited on the sloped surface of one prism to function as a beam splitter, and the sloped surfaces of the two prisms are joined to form a cube shape. This film divides light at a specified ratio for both transmission and reflection at a wavelength of 550nm in the visible range when non-polarized light is incident. Since a dielectric multilayer film is used for the film that functions as the beam splitter, there is almost no light absorption loss due to the film itself (however, due to the difficulty of broad-band wavelength control with dielectric films, there may be different splitting ratios at the ends of the visible range). A membrane thickness of only 2μm! A pellicle beamsplitter that is free from ghost images and resistant to mechanical shocks and temperature fluctuations.

The pellicle beam splitter is bonded to an aluminum alloy frame (finished in black anodizing) with an extremely thin nitrocellulose film. Due to the very thin film, ghost images caused by unwanted back reflections from the rear side of the film are not observed. Mounting tap holes are provided at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock positions of the frame. While it is resistant to mechanical shocks and temperature fluctuations, care must be taken to avoid dust and spray. A cube-type non-polarizing beam splitter for laser lines that can separate beams regardless of the incident polarization state.

The TECHSPEC cube-shaped unpolarized beam splitter for laser lines allows for the even division of light into two orthogonal directions, regardless of the incident polarization state. It employs a hybrid coating that combines metal and dielectric films for beam splitting, keeping the transmittance difference between s-polarized and p-polarized light below 3%. Designed for use with Nd:YAG and He-Ne lasers, it offers three coating options at 1064nm, 632nm, and 532nm. An AR coating is applied to the entrance and exit surfaces of the prism to enhance transmission efficiency, achieving a reflectance of less than 0.25% per surface.
