How does the drain pump operate?
The drain from the air conditioning unit is received in the tank, where the water level is detected, and it operates in an intermittent mode that repeats the cycle of running and stopping. During normal operation, the following actions are repeated: 1. The drain pump receives the drain from the air conditioning unit, causing the water level in the tank to rise. 2. The float switch in the tank is pushed up by the drain, and when it reaches the operating water level, the pump starts operating and begins to drain. 3. As the water level in the tank drops, the float switch lowers, stopping the operation and halting the drainage. ★ What happens during abnormal conditions? If the pump fails or if the piping beyond the pump becomes clogged, a fault signal is output, and the air conditioning unit is stopped. Since no drain will occur from that point, it prevents water leakage from the air conditioning unit.

We would like to introduce a case study on drain pumps in unit coolers. In cases where "the drain piping becomes an obstacle due to the operation of lifts or racks, preventing the installation of the unit cooler in the desired location," a drain pump combined with insulated hoses can be used to raise the drain to the necessary height and then run it horizontally to the drainage point. By using a drain pump with insulated hoses, it becomes possible to run the piping horizontally while avoiding obstacles. The piping route can be freely designed without worrying about the slope, including for collective piping, existing piping (in the case of renovations), and vertical pipes (such as pipe shafts). The 56th HVAC Equipment and Materials Comprehensive Exhibition was held from October 23 to 25 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center, Hamamatsucho Hall. Our company participated with the catchphrase "Another type of drain piping. Reduced construction with pumps and hoses," showcasing a live demonstration of our drain pumps. Approximately 18,000 visitors from various industries, ranging from students to skilled workers, attended over the three days. We were able to promote drain piping construction using drain pumps and hoses as a necessary method for the future of the air conditioning industry. We hope to continue raising awareness about drain pump and hose piping construction among many people and contribute to future job sites.
