It is a modal inertial shaker that is directly attached to the test specimen for excitation.

The FG-142 is a modal inertial shaker with a maximum excitation force of 1.8 Kgf (sine wave, during forced cooling). It features an inertial mass weight of 150 grams, an excitation frequency range of 20 to 3,000 Hz, and a diameter of 3.58 mm through-hole compatible with M3.5 and #6-32 screws for easy installation. Modal excitation using an inertial shaker offers higher reproducibility than hammering excitation and is easier to set up than conventional shakers. The basic principle involves a component of the vibrator with a large mass vibrating due to a drive signal from a power amplifier, which in turn generates an action force that vibrates the test specimen. 【Low-Frequency Electrodynamic (Electromagnetic) Vibrator】 This electrodynamic (electromagnetic) vibrator operates similarly to a conventional acoustic speaker. A coil is driven within the magnetic field of a permanent magnet, allowing the dynamic electrodynamic coil to vibrate components with very large mass. 【High-Frequency Piezoelectric Vibrator】 This piezoelectric vibrator utilizes a piezoelectric ceramic disc to generate excitation force proportional to the supplied voltage. The disc is mounted in a sandwich configuration between a heavy object and a lightweight plate, which is then attached to the test structure.
