Zero Expansion Invar Alloy "IC-LTX" for Extreme Cold Resistance

Zero inverter usable at -100℃! Suitable for astronomical observation satellites, infrared telescopes, and other aerospace applications.

"IC-LTX" is a zero-expansion alloy for astronomical observation satellites. The mirror surface is constructed with a "ClearCeram-Z EX" structure, made from a super-invar IC-LTX material with an extremely low thermal expansion rate of <0±5×10^-8/K, achieving thermal dimensional stability and low-temperature resistance. The mirror surface and telescope structure are maintained at approximately 5°C to facilitate adjustments on the ground. The panels surrounding the telescope's 6A surface are temperature-controlled, maintaining the temperature during a half-orbit (50 minutes) with an accuracy of ±0.1°C. [Features] ■ All-metal structure designed for extreme low temperatures, providing stability and high feasibility of design values. ■ The mirror surface and telescope structure are maintained at approximately 5°C to facilitate adjustments on the ground. ■ Temperature-controlled panels surrounding the telescope's 6A surface maintain the temperature during a half-orbit with an accuracy of ±0.1°C. ■ The detector is cooled with a Peltier element, keeping it below 180K. ■ The high-temperature section of the Peltier is connected to a radiator via a heat pipe for heat dissipation. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Invar alloy 'IC-EX2' for CFRP molding molds

Significant cost reduction compared to forged products! The 200℃ endurance is twice that of commercially available products.

The "IC-EX2" is a mold for CFRP molding (autoclave). Our developed low thermal expansion cast steel can flexibly accommodate complex shapes due to the casting process. Since it overcomes the challenges of low mechanical properties, which is a weakness of cast steel, it holds great potential as a mold for precision CFRP molding with excellent mass production capabilities. 【Features】 ■ Improved strength: Increased mold lifespan ■ Cast steel: Significant cost reduction compared to machining from forged steel ■ Cryogenic treatment + annealing ■ 200℃ strength is twice that of commercial products *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Ultimate Invar Alloy "IC-DX"

Zero expansion - does not undergo structural transformation up to -269°C! The Young's modulus is 1.5 times that of commercial products!

"IC-DX" is a low thermal expansion alloy based on Fe-Co-Cr. Since it does not contain Ni, which raises the Ms point, it can achieve both zero thermal expansion and low-temperature structural stability, making it suitable for use in low-temperature environments. This material is being evaluated for use as a pad material for bonding 200mm square fused quartz (aspheric mirrors). Thermal expansion at the operating temperature of 77K (liquid nitrogen) and during alignment adjustments from room temperature to 77K is important. 【Features】 ■ Zero expansion, ultra-low temperature stability, high rigidity, corrosion resistance ■ Coefficient of thermal expansion: 0 ppm/℃ ■ Lower limit temperature for low-temperature use: minus 269℃ ■ Young's modulus: 176 GPa ■ Corrosion resistance equivalent to SUS304 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Invar alloy (low thermal expansion alloy) lineup

We introduce a wide range of standard Invar alloys and free-cutting super Invar alloys.

We would like to introduce the 'Invar' products handled by Shinboko Steel Co., Ltd. Starting with "IC-36," which has a thermal expansion coefficient of 1.5 ppm or less, which is less than 1/10 of that of stainless steel, we also offer the super Invar alloy "IC-36S," which has a low thermal expansion coefficient, and the free-cutting super Invar alloy "IC-36FS," among others. Additionally, we have various Invar alloys "IC-363/IC-364/IC-365" available, which can be adjusted for thermal expansion coefficients according to customer requests. 【Product Lineup】 ■IC-36 ■IC-36S ■IC-36FS ■IC-363 ■IC-364 ■IC-365 *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
