[AM Utilization Case] Optimization Design for Lightweighting Arm Blocks
The goal is to achieve stable operation of the work and cost reduction for inventory management through weight reduction!
We would like to introduce a case study where additive manufacturing (AM) was utilized for optimized design aimed at reducing the weight of arm blocks. The product in question is a robotic arm, with goals including "improving the stability of work operations and safety through weight reduction" and "reducing costs for processing arrangements and inventory management." As a result, through optimized design using 3D design and generative design, as well as the application of additive manufacturing, we achieved approximately a 75% reduction in weight compared to conventional products, improved design aesthetics, and accelerated the process from design to product completion. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Improving the stability of work operations and safety through weight reduction: Utilization of optimized design - Reducing costs for processing arrangements and inventory management: Utilization of AM ■Results - Approximately 75% reduction in weight and improved design aesthetics compared to conventional products - Accelerated process from design to product completion - Reduction in manufacturing and management costs *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
