Ether-based partial biomass TPU "Resamin PB Series"

Environmentally friendly products from Dai Nippon Seika. Ether-based partially bio-based TPU.

The RezaMin PB series is a carbon-neutral thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer made from biomass-derived ether-based raw materials. There is a perception that biomass plastics have inferior physical properties compared to conventional products, but through functional resin synthesis technology, it maintains processability equivalent to traditional thermoplastic polyurethanes while exhibiting excellent hydrolysis resistance, antibacterial properties, and wear resistance, making it a well-balanced thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer. 【Features】 ○ Demonstrates excellent hydrolysis resistance ○ Shows hydrolysis resistance equal to or greater than current ether-based TPUs For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.

[Column] What is Biomass? Explaining the Mechanism of Renewable Energy!

Recently, I will explain in an easy-to-understand manner the meaning of "biomass," which is gaining attention as a means of generating renewable energy, and the mechanism of renewable energy.

**What is Biomass?** Biomass is a term that combines "biological resources (BIO)" and "mass (MASS)," referring to organic resources generated from "renewable biological materials" without using fossil fuels. **What Can Be Generated from Biomass?** Biomass can be categorized into several types, but it can be broadly classified into three main categories: ■ Waste Biomass This type of biomass is generated from items that are generally discarded, mainly including the following types: Manure and urine from livestock (cattle, pigs, chickens, etc.), food waste (processed foods, waste oil, etc.), waste paper, pulp (factory wastewater), sewage, sludge, human waste, construction waste wood, and sawmill waste wood. ■ Unused Biomass This biomass is generated from materials that arise during agricultural or lumber processes and are planned to be discarded without use. Examples include wheat straw, rice husks, rice straw, and forestry offcuts. ■ Resource Crops These are crops cultivated specifically for the purpose of being used as "biomass resources"... For more information, please read the continuation at the URL below or contact us. If you are considering effective utilization of biomass, please consult ELEMUS.

Biomass (plant-derived component) blended ingredient 'Ecostarch60'

The main raw material (starch) is biodegradable, allowing for a reduction in CO2 equivalent to the amount added.

"Ecostarch60" is a biomass material primarily made from corn starch. Instead of using edible corn, it utilizes industrial corn (dent corn), which is less affected by price fluctuations. Additionally, corn starch (plant-derived component) can be blended in amounts ranging from 10% to 51%. 【Features】 ■ Since the main raw material is starch, it can be produced not only from corn but also from starch obtained from potatoes and other sources. ■ By adjusting the raw material blending ratio and processing temperature, considering the characteristics of biomass resin materials, it can be manufactured using standard plastic resin processing equipment without the need for specialized machinery. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
