●What is an authentication terminal that can be unlocked with a PIN? A typical example is the keypad (10-key) method. It is an authentication terminal with the numbers 0 to 9 arranged in a row. The JEI keypad allows for a maximum of 8 digits to be freely combined for the PIN, and you can set different PINs for each door where the keypad is installed. This allows for operations tailored to security levels, such as areas that everyone can access with a common PIN and areas that only specific individuals who know the PIN can enter. Additionally, there is a 3-key option that can be operated with just three buttons. Similar to the keypad, the PIN can be set to a maximum of 8 digits. Its simple layout, with three numbers arranged vertically, allows for easy one-handed operation without needing to look at the device, which is a significant advantage. It is often installed at entrances to indoor units, particularly in areas that do not directly face the outdoors. ●What is an authentication terminal that can be unlocked with an IC card? There are devices that only have a card reader function, as well as those that can use both a keypad and a card reader. For use in access control, we recommend implementing a card reader that can identify individuals by the card's ID.
