[Case Study] Blickle Heavy-Duty Welded Steel Plate Swivel Caster

Introducing a case study on the introduction of casters for outdoor cleaning machines at an agricultural machinery manufacturer!

We would like to introduce a case where Blickle's "heavy-duty welded steel plate swivel casters for outdoor cleaning machines" were implemented by Zonderland, a company specializing in the manufacture of high-quality agricultural machinery. The company required casters for cleaning machines, which are constantly exposed to dust and sand due to being towed by tractors, necessitating robust casters. As a result, it was determined that casters using the "LS series" heavy-duty brackets made of very sturdy welded steel plate were suitable, and they were adopted. As a result, Blickle was able to meet all of the company's requirements using two standard caster models. [Challenges] - The cleaning machines, being towed by tractors, were constantly exposed to dust and sand, requiring robust casters. - The wheels and brackets needed to withstand use at speeds of 16 kilometers per hour and be able to endure impacts from the side. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Blickle Spring-Loaded Heavy-Duty Casters

Cost reduction with a compact design! Case study on the introduction of customized caster brake systems.

We would like to introduce a case where Blickle's "spring-loaded heavy-duty casters" were implemented in an automobile manufacturer's factory. For various reasons, the engineers at the factory wanted to make slight modifications to the caster's wheel lock mechanism to optimize it for new applications. To prevent collisions, the design of the brake mechanism was changed to reduce the diameter by 65 millimeters. As a result, the changes to the new casters and the optimized brake mechanism led to a reduction in wear on equipment and safety shoes, significantly lowering repair costs. [Challenges] - The engineers wanted to make slight modifications to the caster's wheel lock mechanism to optimize it for new applications. - When the wheel brake lever is released, a protrusion extends, posing a risk of injury if used in other factories. *You can download the catalog. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Introduction of casters that can be used as guide wheels for stretchers.

Blickle heavy-duty polyurethane wheels made with polyurethane tread and cast iron wheel center.

A German company that provides equipment for wire drawing machines and the wire and cable industry primarily uses special wheels from other manufacturers, and the company's requirements were to match the material and dimensions precisely. A feature of these wheels is that they incorporate V-nuts into the tread, which allows for the use of guide wheels for wire drawing machines. In addition to the material and dimensions of the wheels, it was important to have high wear resistance since wires and cables are continuously pulled across the tread. After a long testing phase in line with the technical points of this company, we recommended heavy-duty wheels using cast iron wheel centers and Blickle Besthane treads. These wheels have the same dimensions, confirmed equivalence to the previously used products, and are offered at a lower price. We received high satisfaction from this company, and by using Blickle Besthane treads and cast iron wheel centers, we ensured high wear resistance and significantly reduced wheel procurement costs. *You can download the catalog. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Introduction of casters with excellent floor protection for transport carts used with rescue helicopters.

Arrives quickly and safely in emergencies! Blickle heavy-duty dual-wheel caster with pneumatic tires made of welded steel plate.

An engineering company specializing in custom services and solutions for shipbuilding manufactures transport carts for rescue helicopters, which are brought to the airfield by trailer. The transport route uses a very delicate tar mac material, and the initially installed casters from another company exerted very high pressure on the floor surface, causing damage to the pavement. This company sought a solution that exerts low pressure on the floor and excels in floor protection, requiring specially reinforced heavy-duty brackets due to the need for high-speed movement and high dynamic loads in emergencies. As a result, a special dual-wheel caster was developed using the heavy-duty wheels from the "PS series" among standard products. All existing casters were replaced with Blickle's heavy-duty wheels and special casters from the "LSD/BSD-PS series," avoiding high costs for airfield repairs, and the reinforced dual-wheel casters also accommodate high-speed movement. *You can download the catalog. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Introduction of temperature-controlled casters specialized for biotechnology companies.

Reliable and usable even at extremely low temperatures! We have developed the ideal solution! Blickle casters with stainless steel mounting brackets.

A biotechnology company in Scandinavia manufactures natural additives, but due to the delicate nature of their products, they are produced in a strictly controlled environment. This company has faced wheel issues multiple times in the past. Brittle and easily breakable tires, along with hard and corroded rotating fittings, rendered the carts nearly or completely unusable, making them difficult for operators to handle, reducing work efficiency, and incurring maintenance costs. As a solution, we analyzed the specific requests from the field and developed an ideal solution based on the Blickle LIX-POTH caster wheel series. As a special feature, a special cold-resistant grease suitable for roller bearings at temperatures down to -70°C is applied to the deep groove ball bearings of the wheels and the swivel parts of the mounting fittings. This solution has been validated, and the company successfully tested the new wheels, leading to their permanent adoption. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Introduction of casters usable on railway tracks for major fire truck manufacturers.

Demonstrating flexibility and safety on both rails and roads! Safety and reliability are essential.

A major Swiss fire truck manufacturer has been purchasing completed wheel assemblies for trolleys with casters until now. Due to end-user demands for more flexibility and additional features, the manufacturer decided to independently develop the wheel assemblies for existing equipment trolleys. The basic wheel assembly uses two swivel casters from the "L-ALTH series" and two fixed casters with deadman brakes from the "B-GTH series." The casters are equipped with polyurethane treads called "Blickle Extrathane." After detailed discussions with this company, Blickle's engineers additionally designed flanged wheels to enable safe use on railway tracks. Thorough testing of the prototypes was conducted, proving that Blickle's design was sufficient, and the company received high satisfaction for the new wheel assembly, which is expected to demonstrate strengths in this market. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Introduction of low rolling resistance swivel casters for electric lifts used in high-altitude work.

Improve ride comfort with Blickle's solutions! Significant energy savings and extended battery life achieved.

The manufacturer of electric lifts for high-altitude work was using drive wheels and swivel casters from other companies for their mobile electric lifts for high-altitude work. As a solution from Blickle, the drive wheels (GSTN) made with the polyurethane elastomer tread "Blickle Softhane" were well-suited for this application. The features of this tread included comfort in operation and high grip, but at the request, wheels were used that had a gray tread that does not leave marks on the floor and a black painted finish on the wheel center for this lift. The GTH wheels, which have low rolling resistance, were designed with a smaller offset value to be incorporated into existing machine designs, and a location was provided for a directional restriction lock system that can be operated remotely by the operator. By using these wheels, it was demonstrated that the solution meets the aesthetic requirements of the company and is compatible with existing machine designs. Improvements in rolling resistance have led to significant energy savings and extended battery life. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Case study on the introduction of directional restriction lock casters for small package delivery carts.

To American mail order companies! Using Blickle's special casters for postal logistics, we ensure smooth international shipping.

An online retail company in the United States that deals with various products is currently making significant investments to expand its logistics and transportation business, aiming to reduce the outsourcing of its logistics management processes. They requested bids from manufacturers for casters to be used on carts for parcels. Each cart required two types of casters. Blickle proposed a solution. In addition to finding the appropriate technical solution, they were looking for a supplier that could quickly provide a large quantity of products and had experience in postal logistics. Blickle's design department developed a special specification "L-ALTH swivel caster" according to the customer's request. The "L-ALTH wheel" used for the casters features a tread shape designed to optimize rolling resistance, with more convex sections than standard wheels. As a result, Blickle's engineers also designed a special directional locking mechanism operated by a cable pull. As part of the initial order, they manufactured and delivered 40,000 units of the special specification "L-ALTH caster" as scheduled. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[Case Study] Blickle Heavy-Duty Casters

Move a 1,200-ton structure without error! Specially designed and customized casters used.

As part of the lane expansion project, it was necessary to lower a bridge section weighing over 1,200 tons and measuring 53 meters in length gradually over several days. The company's experts came up with a method to lower the bridge section using casters while aligning it along the steel framework and contacted Wache, the distributor for Blickle. Blickle's development department devised a customized solution that met all requirements, including a low mounting height for the casters and a tread width of less than 200mm. This significantly improved the previously complex lowering method that used PTFE plates, and by using specially designed casters, the bridge section no longer got stuck. [Case Overview] ■ Challenges - There was a risk of the bridge section swaying if gaps formed between the panels and the steel beams. - If the lowering speed of the side sections differed slightly and the plates got stuck, work had to be interrupted. ■ Product Introduced - Specially designed caster "BSQ4FE-GSPO 152K" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
