The print paper chart is a reflective test chart made using black and white photographic paper, which is a photosensitive material. Equa's print paper chart comes in two types: a high-definition monochrome type that pursues fine line representation, and a gray type that takes advantage of the intermediate color representation unique to print paper. The former is used for calibration purposes of various optical products, resolution charts, distortion charts, and more. Typically, a film master is created first, and the print paper chart is produced based on that. It is drawn using a high-precision parallel light source exposure machine in a clean room managed at 23 degrees Celsius and 50% humidity. The unique exposure process reproduces the highest level of sharp pattern edges. Patterns can be created with a minimum line width of 30 micrometers. The latter is used for creating products for color management of scanners and optical devices. A pattern featuring step tablets and solid patches is representative. Reflective density, number of steps, and arrangement can be customized. The color reproduction test chart (color chart) is used to check the quality of a camera's color correction (reproducibility). On the other hand, this can also be seen as a subjective analysis of preferred colors and a measurement of color reproduction. In the latter case, the image is converted to the CIELAB space, and the color values are compared with the measured colors of the original target. A good method is to use the camSPECS device to measure spectral sensitivity. A commonly used chart for cameras in this field is the X-Rite ColorChecker, but ImageEngineering sells it as "TE188," while the IT8 for scanners is sold as "TE258." "TE226" is a transparent extended version of the ColorChecker. For cameras, the extended version becomes the X-Rite ColorChecker SG, which is sold as "TE230" and has become the standard test chart. The resolution that complies with ISO standard 12233 (digital still cameras) and ISO standard 16067 (scanners) refers to the ability of an image capture device to reproduce the details of the scene being photographed. What is important here is that the number of pixels is not the same as resolution. The number of pixels is necessary to achieve the required resolution, but not only optical components such as lenses and aliasing removal filters, but also image processing significantly affects the camera's resolution. Additionally, the smaller the number of pixels, the greater the impact of optical components on the resulting resolution. The continuous development of camera technology is expanding the requirements for image technology in the security field. New features such as motion and facial recognition have been added as standard. There is no reliable method to measure dynamic range without the use of a transmission chart. Image Engineering offers the TE264, which measures noise, OECF, dynamic range, and ISO speed (in accordance with ISO standards 14524, 15739, and 12232). Transmission charts require uniform lighting, and for this purpose, the iQ-LED equipped transmission chart lighting device (integrating sphere) LE7 is an excellent choice. By illuminating the TE264 with an integrating sphere equipped with an iQ-LED light source, you can achieve a highly uniform light source for measuring brightness, color, and shading (in accordance with ISO standard 17957) along with the TE255. For reflection charts, TE230 (Calibrite ColorChecker SG) is used for color reproduction, TE251 (in accordance with ISO standard 17850) for distortion and lateral chromatic aberration, and TE253 9x (in accordance with ISO standard 12233:2014) for resolution. For evaluating all images captured with the sample camera, the image analysis software iQ-Analyzer-X is recommended.

The image quality of scanners and cameras is typically tested using a chart that is one step superior to the expected test results of the scanner. The TE240, which measures dynamic range in accordance with ISO standard 21550, is prepared with both transmission and reflection charts. In the case of reflection, the highest contrast is limited to approximately 2.4 density. For transmission, users can choose a density between 4.0 and 6.0. The IT8 color target (TE258) is the standard chart for color profile creation. Image Engineering offers both reflection and transmission charts with wide color gamut. The U.S. Air Force resolution chart TE250 (transmission) is used for visual resolution analysis. Resolution measurement of scanners in accordance with ISO standard 16067 is traditionally conducted using the inclined edge target QA-62. This chart is currently available only in reflection.

The camSPECS plate "TE292" was developed as an option for the measurement device "camSPECS," where all interference filters are mounted on a single "test chart," to be used with the LE7, a transmission chart integral sphere light source equipped with a highly uniform iQ-LED light source. In contrast to the halogen light source of the camSPECS device, the iQ-LED light source of the LE7 can generate custom spectra that replicate multiple light sources for camera characterization and calibration. The TE292 comes in two versions with different filter diameters (standard version TE292A and XL version TE292B), as well as a VIS-IR version TE292B-VIS-IR that extends the wavelength range from 380nm to 1050nm, all of which include the camSPECS software (dedicated software for operating camSPECS products). Unlike the camSPECS device, the TE292 cannot be used alone, so a uniform lighting device like the LE7 is required. It can be used with any version or variation of the LE7, but is sold separately from the LE7.
