Shine Kogei [Ceramic Coating for Resin and Engineering Plastics]

Formation of a high-hardness ceramic coating on resin and engineering plastic parts through low-temperature firing by Shine Kogei.

Conventional fluororesin coatings require high-temperature firing at 400°C, making it difficult to process materials other than metals. However, Shine Kogei's ceramic coating "Cera Armor" can form a film at low temperatures, allowing the functional properties of ceramics to be imparted to materials with low heat resistance, such as resins and engineering plastics. This contributes to the long lifespan of sliding components and provides chemical resistance and corrosion prevention effects, ultimately reducing total costs. 【Processing Achievements】 ■ ABS (sensor components) ■ PET (transport components) ■ PVC・POM (food equipment parts) ■ PC (electronic device housings) ■ PEEK (jigs) ■ FRP (transport equipment exteriors) ■ CFRP (roll components) ■ Glass epoxy (jigs) ■ PP, MC nylon, polyamide, etc. ◆ Regarding Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process. 1. Properties of the material to be processed (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. Purpose of processing (e.g., removal of contaminants, slip properties, peening, etc.) * If possible, providing drawings would be beneficial for estimating costs.

Shine Craft: Functional Ceramic Coating for Glass

Shine Kogei retains the transparency of glass while providing functionality with a ceramic coating.

Conventional fluororesins do not adhere well to glass, but Shine Kogei's ceramic coating "Cera Armor" achieves excellent adhesion with just shot blasting treatment. Furthermore, among the color variations of Cera Armor, there is also a "clear" option. This allows for the functionality of ceramics to be imparted while maintaining the appearance and properties (such as transparency) of the glass. We have experience processing quartz glass, heat-resistant glass, whiteboard glass, and more. ◆ Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process: 1. The nature of the substrate to be coated (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. The purpose of the coating (e.g., non-stick, chemical resistance, slip resistance, etc.) 3. Usage conditions (e.g., temperature, chemicals, wear conditions, etc.) *If possible, providing drawings would be beneficial for estimating purposes.

Shine Craft [Fluororesin Coating for Rubber]

Improved functionality with a rubber-specific 'fluororesin coating'!!

Conventional fluoropolymer coatings require shot blasting and high-temperature curing, making it difficult to process rubber. However, with Shine Kogei's special coating technology, "Rubber-Specific Fluoropolymer Coating," it is possible to form a fluoropolymer film on rubber without damaging the material. By applying the coating, the unique tackiness of rubber can be eliminated, leading to improved sliding properties. Additionally, other physical properties can be imparted. This allows for the replacement of expensive materials like silicone rubber and fluororubber with more affordable rubber. ◆ Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process: 1. The nature of the substrate to be coated (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. The purpose of the coating (e.g., non-stick, chemical resistance, sliding properties, etc.) 3. Usage conditions (e.g., temperature, chemicals, wear conditions, etc.) *If possible, providing drawings would be beneficial for estimating purposes.

Shine Craft: Ceramic Coating as a Replacement for Fluororesin

With Shine Kogei's "Sera Armor," the film properties surpass those of fluororesin! The range of base materials that can be processed is also expanding.

The general hardness of fluororesin coatings is around 2 to 3H. The heat resistance temperature is between 200°C and 260°C. With these specifications, wear occurs quickly, leading to a short lifespan, and the limited heat resistance may restrict the range of applications. Shine Kogei's "Cera Armor" features a high hardness coating with a pencil hardness of 9H. Additionally, its heat resistance temperature is 500°C, demonstrating more than twice the physical properties of fluororesin. Unlike conventional ceramics, "Cera Armor" forms a coating through low-temperature sintering. The typical curing temperature is 200°C. Furthermore, curing can be adapted to the heat resistance temperature of the material. For example, when applying Cera Armor to polycarbonate, a ceramic coating can be formed with a heat treatment of around 80°C. Therefore, it can be processed not only on resins and engineering plastics but also on glass and wood. ◆ Inquiries ◆ When making an inquiry, it would be helpful to provide the following information for a smoother process: 1. The nature of the substrate to be coated (material, shape, size, etc.) 2. The purpose of the coating (e.g., non-stick, chemical resistance, slip properties, etc.) 3. Usage conditions (e.g., temperature, chemicals, wear conditions, etc.) *If possible, providing drawings would be beneficial for estimating and calculations.

Non-stick property provided by ceramic coating.

Leave the release of molten resins and other strong adhesives to Shine Kogei's "Cera Armor"!

The resin, melted into a semi-liquid state, possesses strong adhesive energy and sticks to molds and manufacturing equipment. Generally, fluoropolymer coatings are applied, but due to the strong adhesion of the materials, there are reports of rapid wear and functional degradation of the coating. In such cases, we recommend Shine Kogei's ceramic coating "Cera Armor." Thanks to its high non-stick properties and hard coating, users have reported that "the lifespan has increased compared to fluoropolymer coatings, and downtime due to maintenance has decreased." 【Cera Armor Coating Properties List】 1. Wear resistance (pencil hardness 9H), 2. Release properties, 3. Slipperiness, 4. Heat resistance, 5. Water and oil repellency, 6. Insulation, 7. Corrosion resistance, 8. Rust prevention, 9. Dirt resistance, 10. Antibacterial properties, 11. Far infrared effect, etc. 【Track Record of Release Properties Against Resins】 Urethane, PET, PP, Epoxy, etc.

A coating course by Shine Craft that is easy to understand for beginners.

Why is coating necessary? [A must-see for those struggling with release properties, slip properties, corrosion resistance, etc.!]

Shine Kogei specializes in contract coating processing centered around fluororesin and ceramics. Our customers come from various fields, including automotive, semiconductors, food, chemical plants, and aerospace, but they all share a common issue: "there are functional problems with the base material." For example, when designing a base material with corrosion resistance, Inconel or super stainless steel may come to mind. However, the high cost and difficulty in processing these materials are significant drawbacks. That's where we propose our fluororesin coating "Blue Armor." By applying this coating, we have received evaluations that it offers advantages in terms of performance and cost. Additionally, when it comes to improving the release properties of molds, achieving release performance through material alone is challenging. In such cases, applying a release agent is often used as an alternative, but this can actually require more maintenance and decrease work efficiency. In these situations, a coating that firmly adheres to the base material tends to perform better.
