We would like to introduce a case where we were consulted about installing a blow disk due to the existing air aerator installed in the silo for chemicals at the waste treatment plant being damaged. The originally installed unit was a wire mesh type, which had deformations and tears in the wire mesh due to aging, and there were also blockages due to the mesh. The customer was using an electromagnetic knocker in the hopper of a screw feeder to prevent powder blockage. While the knocker effectively resolved issues with powder clumping and blockage, the customer expressed a desire to "do something about the noise."
