We propose a parts feeder for automotive components equipped with a soundproof cover. To address one of the issues faced by parts feeders, namely noise, we have manufactured it in a full-cover format that almost entirely encloses the parts feeder with a soundproof cover. The thickness of the soundproof cover can be adjusted according to the customer's installation environment, the type and characteristics of the workpieces, and the soundproofing standards. At Shinwa Giken, we have accumulated extensive experience in the automatic alignment of workpieces for automotive components, particularly in electronic control systems (resin gears). We process the difficult task of determining the front and back of a substrate with high precision and speed using image processing.

This parts feeder automatically aligns the direction and posture of the workpiece, which is a circuit board, and discharges it to the next machine in a consistent manner. The circuit board is one of the workpieces that is very difficult to determine its orientation and front/back, but this issue has been resolved by using a camera-based image processing system. The status of the circuit board determination through image processing is displayed on a monitor in real-time, allowing the operator to check it live. The management of the workpieces on the chute is constantly monitored by sensors, and if there is an excess supply of workpieces, the parts feeder will temporarily stop to minimize unnecessary vibrations and drive.
