Pre-filled syringes are generally tested based on ISO 11040-4. Glass syringes are more susceptible to breakage than plastic syringes, so a wider variety of tests are required based on ISO 11040-4. There are a total of ten annexes within ISO 11040-4, each requiring different testing methods.
