We would like to introduce a case of processing crankshafts for agricultural machinery at our company. The size is L66×φ12×φ10, with a flange diameter of φ55. High strength and wear resistance required! A case study of processing that achieved high toughness through tempering.

We would like to introduce a case study of processing crankshafts for agricultural machinery engines at our company. In the heat treatment of the shafts, we first perform carburizing and high-frequency quenching. By heating the workpiece to a high temperature and then rapidly cooling it, we can increase its hardness. While quenching increases hardness, it also has the disadvantage of making the material brittle. Therefore, we perform tempering to enhance toughness (ductility). The rough material is shaped through hot forging, followed by center hole processing. We would like to introduce a case of processing crankshafts for agricultural machinery at our company. After forming the rough material and machining the center hole through cold forging, we performed rough machining of the outer diameter on a lathe, followed by drilling and keyway processing on a machining center. We requested a specialized heat treatment partner to improve strength and hardness through carburizing and high-frequency hardening of the threaded areas.
