[BIM Software Implementation Case] Concentrated Solar Power Plant

The main steel structure consists of 16 columns! It is supported by three main platforms!

SteelPro 4 s.r.o. undertook the basic design, general layout creation, and modeling of all connections for a steel structure 3D model of a solar receiver (MSR) with a total weight of approximately 900 tons and a height of 36 meters. The main steel structure will be completed, including secondary structures such as platforms, various walkways, and supports for equipment. Appropriate solutions were required to resolve technical space requirements and interference with the structure. A significant reason for the success of this project was the sharing of the 3D model among members of different professions, which not only allowed for progress tracking but also enabled close collaboration among stakeholders. Additionally, the structure was divided into production units in line with the delivery schedule, and the 3D model was provided to steel trading companies and steel fabricators. This made it possible to create drawings both at the manufacturing plant and on-site. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. Point cloud, STL processing, 3D CAD, ZW3D

Point cloud, surface creation function from STL, tessellation of complex point cloud data, easy measurement of errors between shapes and point cloud, STL data.

● Surfaces can be created from point clouds and STL! - (Using point cloud and STL data from 3D measuring devices, we enable the direct creation of smooth surfaces. It is possible to create surfaces that consider not only point cloud information but also continuity with adjacent surfaces. This is effective not only for creating surface models from mock-ups but also for reverse engineering of pressed molded products.) ● Measure the errors between shapes and point cloud/STL data and execute gradient processing with a command! (By specifying the allowable range, we can instantly provide the average value and maximum error value.)

[BIM Software Implementation Case] Pepper Tree Quarry

Conducted 3D laser scanning and integrated it as a point cloud on the reconstructed Tekla model!

In 2013, Sandvik received a project from their client Boral for a quarry located in Pepper Tree. The factory, located in Sydney, Australia, is equipped with six crushers, nine screening machines (vibrating screens), a conveyor belt approximately 3.4 km long, and a fully automated loading system. This project was one of the more complex ones undertaken by the company. The main challenge was integrating the complex new equipment into the existing factory, which had not been designed for it, and not all existing blueprints were available. By importing from other applications, utilizing past Tekla models, and performing rough modeling of the remaining parts, a complete three-dimensional model of the factory was reconstructed in "Tekla Structure" using the existing model and drawing information. Scanning the existing factory with Trimble's 3D laser scanner made it possible to compare the model with the actual factory, serving as the foundation for the design of the new equipment. *For more details, please feel free to contact us. ⇩ The catalog can be downloaded from the special website below ⇩

[BIM Software Implementation Case Study] Metropolitan Bus Terminal

All 3D models, including documents such as production drawings and work processes, are created using Tekla Structures!

The Integrated Transport Center is the largest investment project of the Lublin city government, and as part of this, the contractor Budimex has constructed a new bus station along with the reconstruction of the transport system. The company responsible for this impressive steel structure is Mostostal Kraków. The highlight of this project, the Lublin Metropolitan Bus Terminal's roof, is a representative landmark of Lublin, with the weight of the steel columns and truss sections with crowns totaling approximately 1550 tons. Its artistic appearance is composed of precise processing techniques and complex welding. MTA Engineering was responsible for the structural calculations, and the design engineering department of Mostostal Kraków led the detailed design work. The station's roof was designed as a spatial structure, supported by diagonal columns. All 3D models, including production drawings and work process documents, were created using Tekla Structures.

Research and Development: "3D Shape Recognition Similarity Judgment"

Compare the feature quantities of existing shapes within the database! Use generative models such as VAE and GAN for training.

"Similarity judgment" refers to the process of searching for shapes similar to the input shape from a registered database. Feature quantities of the shape are extracted, and to compare them with the feature quantities of existing shapes in the database, generative models such as VAE and GAN are used for training. In many industries, such as manufacturing and construction, there is a shift towards design based on three-dimensional shapes using 3D CAD. Additionally, computer-aided technologies related to design and manufacturing, known as CAD, CAM, and CAE, are also based on three-dimensional shapes. 【Features】 - Extract feature quantities of shapes and compare them with existing shape feature quantities in the database. - Use generative models such as VAE and GAN for training. - Direct comparison using 3D shape recognition AI. - String comparison using text-based AI. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[BIM Software Implementation Case Study] Agora Evry Arena

Even when faced with unexpected challenges, it became possible to continue working by utilizing Tekla Model Sharing.

This construction is a renovation project for the Agora Evry Arena, which was built as an auditorium in 1970. At that time, it was a complex project that required high technical skills, and the expertise of the Bordan Châtauneuf team was necessary for the construction. The first challenge of this project was to recreate the design model of the existing building from scratch in order to add a new structure. The modeling was based on a manual created by Bordan Châtauneuf in 1970. Using point cloud data obtained from a 3D scan of the existing structure, the components were adjusted by a few centimeters. It was confirmed that the measured point cloud data had position information very close to that of the actual building. This "research" faced several unexpected challenges, but despite the difficulties, it became possible to continue working by utilizing Tekla ModelSharing.
