This is a new generation drive unit that boasts high thrust while being compact. The moving coil efficiently captures the magnetic flux generated by magnets arranged within the magnetic shaft, converting it into thrust with high efficiency. Moreover, it is compact and lightweight because it does not require a frame.
■Linear Scale
This is a uniquely developed magnetic scale supported by Yamaha's outstanding magnetic signal detection technology. It achieves high resolution of 1μm while maintaining low cost. The scale is made of metal with high magnetic retention, making it resistant to thermal expansion and aging. Being magnetic, it can be used without issues even in harsh environments where grease or cutting fluids are present.
■Insulation Structure
The moving coil method tends to encounter problems due to heat generation, but PHASER mitigates this by incorporating an insulation layer that makes it difficult for heat generated by the moving coil to transfer to the table. Additionally, heat dissipation fins are integrated into the moving coil, allowing for efficient heat dissipation, so you can use it with confidence.
