We would like to introduce a case where we received an inquiry from a customer manufacturing contact lens cleaning solution regarding the introduction of a packaging line. The company faced the challenge of improving production efficiency by automating the process to change the orientation of the cleaning solution during the input stage, allowing for both transportation and orientation change in a single process. In the previous setup, only the packaging and boxing processes were automated, while the supply process was handled manually, presenting a challenge to automate the supply process. Therefore, we proposed a system where an arm controlled by a robot cylinder picks up three workpieces from the conveyor after the banding process and transports them to the supply conveyor of the packaging and boxing machine. We would like to introduce a case study of packaging improvement using reinforced cardboard "Navi Ace." A major printing company manufactures and sells materials for solar cells. When exporting overseas, we proposed packaging that can withstand international transport, improve loading and transportation efficiency, and contribute to the achievement of SDGs. [Challenges] ● The product is very large: 2000 mm wide, 500 kg each ● Suspended packaging is essential. They prefer double stacking for loading and four-tier stacking for storage. ● Requirement from the client to clear ISTA-2B (transport packaging standard test). Therefore, we proposed "all cardboard packaging." [Improvements] ◎ A laminated material with Navi Pallet that firmly supports the 2000 mm wide, 500 kg product to suppress deformation. ◎ Innovative design of the packaging material. The outer part, bearing part, and concealment part are integrated to reduce work steps. ◎ Achieved high-efficiency storage with strength that can withstand four-tier stacking. ◎ Successfully cleared ISTA-2B (transport packaging standard test) on the first attempt. *For more details, please refer to the materials. We would like to introduce a case study on packaging improvement using reinforced cardboard "Naviace." A major chemical manufacturer produces and sells materials for electronic devices. For overseas exports, transportation by sea and air is possible, and we proposed packaging that simplifies logistics management, reduces packaging weight, and contributes to achieving SDGs. [Challenges] ● Complicated management of returnable items (returns, inspections, repairs, cleaning, inventory management) ● Halving the weight of packaging materials ● Withstanding rough handling at airports, including double stacking during loading and four-layer storage In response, we proposed "all-cardboard packaging." [Improvements] ◎ Integrated the outer and bearing parts to maintain strength. Used laminated materials with Navi pallets to suppress deformation. ◎ Innovated the shape of the packaging materials.
