It is an ideal oil-based paste that pursues workability, grindability, and further economic efficiency!
In particular, gloss is essential for the quality of plastic products. To create that quality, high precision molds are necessary for producing plastic products. The final polishing process is finished with diamond paste.
▼ Mechanism of Diamond Paste Polishing
Conventional grinding wheels have abrasive particles fixed with a bond, so the applied pressure directly translates into grinding force, resulting in deep scratches. However, diamond paste consists of diamond abrasive particles and a paste-like compound, allowing the particles to move freely without being fixed. Therefore, the applied pressure is not transmitted directly, preventing deep scratches. Additionally, the depth of scratches varies depending on what is used to apply pressure. For instance, using a hard object like a bamboo spatula versus a soft material like felt will obviously result in different pressures transmitted to the abrasive particles, leading to variations in the finished surface.
