[Solution Case] FPGA In-house Research Meeting vol.3

Check the position with the camera! Introducing a case where control was implemented to align a real ping pong ball to the same position.

We will introduce research on high-speed image processing and motor control using an ARM-integrated FPGA. This time, we are controlling the system to confirm the position with a camera and align a real ping pong ball to the same position. The position of a simulated ping pong ball displayed on a laptop screen is captured by the camera, and while processing through image recognition, we ensure that the actual ping pong ball is at the same height. The left display detects the simulated ping pong ball, finds the center of the circle, and calculates the height. Based on this result, we control the ping pong ball to the same position, but there is still a need to improve accuracy and feedback speed. *For more details on the case study, please refer to the related links. Increase to six and confirm operation! Introducing research that enables faster and more appropriate feedback.

We will introduce research on high-speed image processing and motor control using an ARM-integrated FPGA. Last time, we confirmed the control of a fan motor with a single ping pong ball, but we are now increasing it to six and progressing with the operation verification. Even with the same fan motor, the actual movement differs due to variations in precision and whether there is a fan next to it. Ultimately, we are conducting research that allows for faster and more appropriate feedback by confirming the position of the ping pong ball with a camera and controlling each fan motor while adjusting positions and controlling movements through simultaneous processing of software on the ARM and the FPGA. *For detailed information on the case, you can view it through the related links.
