We would like to introduce a case where Taisei Corporation utilized 'modeFRONTIER' for optimizing a daylighting device that delivers sunlight deep into the room. By guiding daylight to the ceiling surface of the room while technically cutting the light that enters the human eye, we analyzed the shape of the daylighting device using the lighting optical evaluation software "Lighting Simulator CAD," ultimately arriving at a shape for which a patent is currently being applied. After completing these tasks, questions remained regarding whether the shape considered by humans is suitable, and whether we would need to repeat the trial and error of drafting and analysis for new shape considerations in the future. By utilizing 'modeFRONTIER' and "Lighting Simulator," we were able to confirm the validity of the human-drafted shape with both tools producing similar shapes. Efficiently considering multiple constraints, control the eigenvalues of automotive brake components!

We present an analysis example applying the non-parametric shape optimization function of "OPTISHAPE-TS," which employs an algorithm based on the smoothing gradient method (force method) to match multiple natural frequencies in automotive brake components. The optimization conditions were set to target the natural vibration modes from the 7th to the 21st, aiming to match their natural frequencies to the target values (considering MAC values) while keeping the volume unchanged. As a result, a final shape was obtained where each eigenvalue and volume matched their respective constraint values with an accuracy within 0.01%. In this case, the control of eigenvalues was performed using specified initial shape ratios, but analyses can also be conducted using absolute values or combinations of other controls such as nodal positions of natural vibration modes and frequency responses. Shape optimization is suitable for improvements from existing shapes! A case that achieved approximately 40% weight reduction.

We will introduce a case of arm optimization considering interference conditions. To obtain a shape that does not interfere with the designated area, we create a mesh of the designable region. By specifying this model as the "deviation designated area," we optimize the shape to ensure it does not extend beyond this region (does not deviate). As a result, we achieved a lightweight shape that meets various constraints without deviating from the specified area. Press processing is a method used in the manufacturing of various industrial products, including automobiles. Since this press processing is often used for mass-produced products, it is desirable to thoroughly examine the processing conditions in advance using CAE. In this case, we optimized the processing conditions by linking the general parameter optimization software "AMDESS" with the explicit dynamic analysis software "Abaqus/Explicit Student Edition" (from SIMULIA, USA). We added recommended points based on the density of the data points we had previously investigated! We devised a way to avoid falling into local solutions. As a result, we achieved a maximum equivalent plastic strain reduction of 9% while satisfying all constraints. We identify parameters that change with environmental and analytical conditions. Not only the heat transfer coefficient but also the stress-strain curve in elastoplastic analysis can be identified!

The heat transfer coefficient depends on the surrounding environment and is not unique to the material, making it difficult to determine its value. If a heat transfer coefficient that can reproduce the measurement results can be identified, it is expected that good simulation results can be obtained for another model under similar conditions. In this case, the general-purpose parameter optimization software "AMDESS" was linked with "Nastran" to identify the heat transfer coefficient. Recently, almost all combinatorial optimization problems are represented by constrained quadratic programming problems. However, in solving them, we further apply the penalty method, etc., transform them into unconstrained quadratic programming problems, and perform quantum annealing operations on the converted mathematical expressions. However, the conversion generated redundant variables that required a huge amount of computing resources, so that practical operations are impossible.
