Pipe anti-corrosion, hospital water supply and air conditioning piping longevity device "NMR Pipe Protector"

NMR Pipe Protector extends the lifespan of hospital water supply pipes and air conditioning chilled and hot water pipes affected by red rust deterioration for over 40 years at one-tenth the cost of pipe replacement.

Water supply pipes and chilled/hot water piping generally require replacement due to aging deterioration. In hospitals with over 25 years of operation, the chilled/hot water piping can experience red rust deterioration, leading to red rust blockage. At the same time, this red rust can flow into copper fan coils, causing blockages and reducing heating and cooling efficiency. Additionally, the red rust can accumulate within the heat source equipment, shortening its lifespan. In the water supply pipes, red rust can develop at the joints, and as the red rust deterioration progresses within both pipes, the threads at the joints can break off, leading to leaks during strong earthquakes. The NMR Pipe Protector prevents red rust deterioration, transforms red rust into black rust to improve pipe strength, and extends the lifespan of the piping. Since the chilled/hot water system is centralized, if piping replacement is carried out, the hospital must halt operations for more than six months, and the replacement costs can reach hundreds of millions to over a billion yen. The damages caused by operational downtime are also significant, leading to a demand for technology that can extend the lifespan of the air conditioning piping without replacement. The NMR Pipe Protector, a device for preventing red rust within pipes, has made this possible at less than one-tenth the cost.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Major DPE Factory

Piping with a statutory useful life of 15 years has been extended by 40 years! Maintaining the condition of the piping without red rust deterioration until 55 years of age.

In this property, galvanized steel pipes (SGP) are used for the water supply piping, and at 35 years old, the pipes were diagnosed to have a lifespan of only 2 months due to frequent leaks and the occurrence of red water. To prevent red rust and extend the life of the pipes, an "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed. In the water quality test before installation, the iron content was 0.5 mg/l, and there was a significant occurrence of red water. However, six days after installation, the iron content dropped to below 0.05 mg/l, and the red water was completely resolved. Subsequently, water quality tests conducted 14 years and 20 years after installation showed that red rust had completely disappeared, and new leaks were entirely prevented, proving the rehabilitation of the piping. [Effects After Installation] ■ Water quality test six days after installation showed iron content below 0.05 mg/l, and red water was completely resolved. ■ Water quality tests 14 years and 20 years after installation showed that red rust had completely disappeared. ■ New leaks were entirely prevented, proving the rehabilitation of the piping. ■ Pipes with a statutory useful life of 15 years were extended by 40 years, maintaining a condition free from red rust deterioration until 55 years old. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Water Supply Pipe in Binh Phuc Province, Vietnam

The red rust inside the cast iron water supply pipe has turned into black rust! It has been proven that the leaching of red rust into the water has been completely prevented.

In the Huong Canh area of the Water Supply Bureau in Binh Phuc Province, Vietnam, cast iron pipes (150A) have been in use for 15 years, leading to the progression of red rust corrosion inside the pipes, which resulted in the regular occurrence of red water. To address this red water issue, a red rust prevention device called the "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed at the base of the cast iron water supply pipes (150A). Before installation, the water color and the amount of red rust at the sampling points located 500m north, 300m west, and 600m south of the installation site were as follows: the northern point had a light brown color with 7.0 mg/l of red rust, the western point had a brown color with 8.0 mg/l, and the southern point had a dark brown color with 23 mg/l. Two weeks after installation, the northern point showed a lighter color and a reduction in red rust to 4.6 mg/l. The western point nearly lost its color, decreasing to 2.0 mg/l. The southern point changed to a light brown color with a reduction to 12 mg/l. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Izu Ohni Country Club

The progress of red rust completely stopped just one month after installation! A case where the discoloration of the filter also decreased!

This property has been in existence for 33 years, and due to significant red rust blockage at the joints of the water supply pipes made of different metals, we adopted the pipe rehabilitation device "NMR Pipe Protector." Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, a white filter was attached to the kitchen sink water supply faucet for seven days, during which the filter became discolored brown due to red rust generated in the water supply pipes. After dissolving the captured iron content with purified water and measuring the iron concentration, it was found that the iron level in the water was 21 mg/l, indicating that the red rust corrosion in the pipes was quite advanced. One month after installation, a white filter was attached under the same conditions as before, and it was confirmed that the filter's discoloration had reduced to light brown, with the iron concentration decreasing significantly to 5.8 mg/l. Additionally, six months after installation, a white filter was again attached under the same conditions, and it was confirmed that the filter's discoloration had nearly returned to white, with the iron concentration further decreasing significantly to 0.75 mg/l. From this, it can be concluded that just one month after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the progression of red rust was completely halted, and at the same time, the surface of the red rust in the water supply pipes transformed into a non-soluble black rust, resulting in a reduction of iron leaching into the water and a decrease in filter discoloration.

[NMR Pipe Protector Verification Results] Nursing Facility #HO

The red rust inside the water supply pipe has transformed into hard crystalline black rust with a volume reduction of 1/10! The rehabilitation of the piping due to the black rust formation from red rust has been confirmed!

This nursing facility had experienced significant deterioration due to red rust in the water supply and hot water supply pipes. Therefore, when the building was 25 years old, a red rust prevention device called the "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed in the water supply pipe on the secondary side of the rooftop water tank and in the hot water supply pipe on the secondary side of the boiler. Before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron ion concentration in the water supply was 2.27 mg/l, and the color degree was 20, indicating severe deterioration due to red rust in the pipes. Four weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, the iron ion concentration in the water dropped to 0.46 mg/l, and the color degree improved to 5, showing a significant improvement in water quality. Furthermore, the water quality test results 12 weeks after installation showed that the iron ion concentration was 0.03 mg/l, and the color degree was less than 0.5. The red rust in the water supply pipe had transformed into hard crystalline black rust with a volume reduction of 1/10, stopping the leaching of red rust into the water. The rehabilitation of the pipes due to the black rust formation was confirmed. This demonstrated that if the use of the NMR Pipe Protector continues, both the water supply and hot water supply pipes can be extended to the lifespan of the building.

[Case Study of Pipe Protector] St. Thomas Hospital and Coil-Type Electromagnetic Device

Unexpected Facts about Coil-Type Electromagnetic Devices and Examples of Pipe Protectors and Non-Scalers

1. Regarding the effectiveness of rust prevention (anti-corrosion) In the UK, coil-type electromagnetic devices are primarily used as a measure against calcium scale, and their effectiveness in preventing red rust has not been recognized. In fact, at St. Thomas' Hospital, famous for Florence Nightingale and where the NHS headquarters is located, this device was introduced into the hot water piping, but it showed no anti-corrosion effect, and red rust deterioration was progressing. As a result, an NMR pipe protector was installed in 2005. Before installation, the hot water contained a high concentration of iron ions, but after one month, the concentration significantly decreased, halting the progression of red rust deterioration and confirming a change to insoluble black rust. Although coil-type electromagnetic devices are also sold domestically, please be aware that their effectiveness against red rust has not been confirmed. 2. Regarding the effectiveness of calcium scale prevention Coil-type electromagnetic devices are also sold domestically as scale prevention devices, but in a major food factory where they were introduced, they failed to prevent scale adhesion within the pumps. As a result, a non-scaler was adopted, completely preventing adhesion. Disassembly and cleaning, which were previously required every few months, are no longer necessary. If you have not achieved results with coil-type devices, please consider introducing a non-scaler.

Pipe anti-corrosion, Mansion Coop Nomura Minami Ishikiri has introduced NMR Pipe Protectors.

The NMR pipe protector has been proven to not only prevent red rust in apartment water supply pipes but also to slow down the deterioration of red rust in drainage pipes, reducing the frequency of drainage pipe cleaning by 30%.

The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" is a product with excellent functionality that reduces red rust to black rust and strengthens piping. Red rust has the property of generating red water and corroding pipes until they become severely deteriorated. Co-op Nomura Minami Ishikiri installed the NMR Pipe Protector in August 2001, marking its 24th year. After 15 years, a deterioration diagnosis survey of the piping was conducted. When the drainage pipes on the secondary side of the elevated water tank and inside the residences were inspected, it was found that there was almost no progression of red rust due to internal deterioration in both the water supply and drainage pipes. Thanks to the effect of the NMR Pipe Protector, red rust had hardly progressed, and its surface had turned to black rust, ensuring proper rehabilitation of the piping. Similarly, the drainage pipes showed almost no progression of red rust, earning high praise. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Pipe rust prevention, the Imperial Theatre introduces NMR pipe protectors.

The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" completely prevents red rust in the air conditioning chilled and hot water pipes of the Imperial Theatre, where updating the piping is difficult, and has proven that it can extend the lifespan of the pipes until the building's lifespan.

Currently, at the Imperial Theatre, which was built 56 years ago, the "NMR Pipe Protector" was introduced in 2000 (Heisei 12) to prevent corrosion of the building's piping and to rehabilitate it, as the building reached 34 years of age. The Imperial Theatre building has its own heat source facilities for air conditioning, and the machinery room is located at the deepest point, which is the sixth basement level. Renovations and maintenance of various parts, such as water-based piping that is prone to aging, have been carried out quite frequently, but while exposed piping and equipment in the machinery room have been manageable, the buried piping could not be addressed. The effects of introducing the NMR Pipe Protector have been tremendous; this year marks 56 years since its construction, and the occurrence of red rust inside the piping has been remarkably suppressed. Additionally, there has been no leakage for the past 22 years since the installation, proving that the red rust has transformed into black rust. As a result, the NMR Pipe Protector has contributed to maintaining a comfortable theater environment at the Imperial Theatre, which symbolizes Japan's theatrical culture. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

The NMR pipe protector sheds light on the issue of marine pollution caused by plastic waste!

Approaching global environmental issues! "NMR Pipe Protector" for preventing red rust inside pipes.

It is said that plastic waste polluting the oceans amounts to about 8 million tons. Developing countries with densely populated cities like Indonesia and Vietnam are major contributors to the marine plastic waste problem, as they consume large quantities of bottled beverages, many of which flow into the oceans through rivers and other waterways. The high consumption of bottled beverages is due to the unsuitability of tap water for drinking. If the water quality issues of tap water in developing countries can be resolved, there is a prospect of improving the marine pollution problem caused by plastic waste. In this regard, our company’s uniquely developed rust prevention device for pipes, the "NMR Pipe Protector," is highly anticipated. This product can resolve the rust problem in water pipes faced by developing countries at a cost of one-tenth to one-twentieth of pipe replacement, improving the water quality to make it drinkable. The marine pollution caused by plastic waste, which has become a global issue, can be significantly improved by installing the "NMR Pipe Protector," a product born from Japan's advanced technological capabilities, in urban areas of developing countries. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

To prevent pipe rust, the famous C University library has introduced NMR pipe protectors.

The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" is simply installed on the outside of the air conditioning chilled and hot water pipes, converting red rust to black rust throughout the entire piping system for long-term durability.

In the year 2000, 13 years after its completion, it was discovered that there was leakage due to red rust deterioration in part of the chilled and hot water piping of C University Library. The circulating water was mixed with red rust, and the deterioration of the piping had progressed significantly. As a rust prevention measure inside the piping, rust inhibitors were regularly administered, but the red rust deterioration did not stop, and since 1996 (9 years after construction), partial updates of the piping had been underway. However, due to the presence of asbestos in the ceiling of the library, it was difficult to carry out renewal work on the main and branch pipes. Therefore, a red rust prevention device called the "NMR Pipe Protector" was introduced. The NMR Pipe Protector stops the red rust deterioration of the piping and can extend the life of the piping until the building's lifespan, making the removal of asbestos unnecessary and allowing for significant cost reductions. Since the installation work of the NMR Pipe Protector does not require water service interruption, construction could proceed while the building was in use, eliminating the need for the library and surrounding facilities to close. After installation at C University Library, the rust prevention effect in the chilled and hot water piping was confirmed by an increase in the amount of black rust among the red rust. After the introduction of the NMR Pipe Protector, the piping was removed, and quantitative proof of the conversion of red rust to black rust was established through mass analysis of rust samples.

Reduce costs by preventing red rust in the apartment's water supply pipes and install a new elevator.

A condominium that used an NMR pipe protector to prevent red rust in water supply pipes, reducing the cost of pipe renewal to one-tenth, and used the remaining funds to install a new elevator.

The "NMR Pipe Protector" is a groundbreaking device for apartments and hospitals struggling with red rust issues in their piping, and it has received great acclaim. The introduction cost of the NMR Pipe Protector is about 1/5 to 1/10 of the cost of pipe replacement, allowing for a cost reduction of approximately 80-90%. At "Cosmo Kajigaya Le Seine," the introduction of the NMR Pipe Protector has created financial leeway, and they have begun considering the installation of a new elevator, which was a frequent request from residents. It was deemed financially feasible, and a proposal for the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector along with the new elevator was presented at an extraordinary general meeting and approved. Thus, the introduction of the NMR Pipe Protector brings various benefits to each facility. In addition to its effects on maintaining and improving water quality, it also makes a significant contribution in terms of cost. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.*

Pipe rust prevention, Kumamoto Red Cross Hospital has introduced NMR pipe protectors.

The Kumamoto Red Cross Hospital, which strengthened the piping joints with the black rust conversion effect of the red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector," completely prevented water leaks during the Kumamoto earthquake.

Kumamoto Red Cross Hospital, being a long-established medical institution, faced issues due to the aging of its facilities. One of the significant problems that cannot be ignored is the "deterioration of pipes due to red rust." One of the issues caused by the deterioration of the air conditioning hot and cold water pipes is "leakage." In advanced medical facilities, leakage can lead to the malfunction of medical equipment and is certainly undesirable from a hygiene perspective. In response, in 2014, the 'NMR Pipe Protector' was introduced as a measure to prevent pipe deterioration, and its effectiveness was recognized, leading to its implementation throughout the entire facility. A water quality survey conducted before the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector revealed that the iron content due to red rust in the hospital's air conditioning hot water was 12.3 mg per liter, indicating significant red rust presence. However, just two weeks after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, this level decreased to 0.07 mg, demonstrating a reduction of approximately 82% in concentration, and proving that the red rust had transformed into insoluble black rust in the water. Not only were we able to protect the medical environment from leakage caused by red rust, but we also became able to allocate more budget to other areas. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

Preventing the reduction of residual salt concentration by converting red rust in the main water supply pipe (distribution pipe) to black rust.

The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" converts red rust inside water pipes to black rust and prevents the decrease of chlorine (residual chlorine) concentration for disinfection.

The NMR Pipe Protector has been widely adopted as a device for preventing red rust in piping and extending the lifespan of pipes, and it has recently gained attention in water distribution pipes of water supply agencies. At the Japan Water Works Association's water research presentation held in 2013, the Yokohama City Water Bureau published a paper reporting the results of a demonstration experiment showing that the use of this product can suppress the decrease in chlorine concentration in tap water. This matter was also reported as an article in the Japan Water News. The initial verification confirmed the reduction of iron ion levels in the water and the increase in residual chlorine concentration before and after installation in the water supply pipe within the Tsurumi water reservoir's associated housing. Next, a comparison of residual chlorine concentrations was conducted, revealing that before installation, the chlorine concentration was 0.5 PPM in the test pipe located 10 meters from the main pipe, 0.3 PPM at 60 meters, and 0.2 PPM at 135 meters, indicating that the residual chlorine concentration decreased with increasing distance due to red rust in the piping. After the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector, it was confirmed that the chlorine concentration at 135 meters doubled. From these test results, the effectiveness of suppressing the decrease in chlorine concentration was verified, demonstrating that the NMR Pipe Protector can also be used to prevent red rust deterioration in the main water supply pipes (distribution pipes). *For more details, please refer to the PDF or contact us.*
