New Employee's Casual Diary: Volume 2

Mishima Tool Co., Ltd. New Employee's Casual Diary, Volume 2

This time, I would like to share a piece of trivia about screws. Do you all know how screws were created? Surprisingly, their roots can be traced back to seashells! In fact, the relationship between screws and humanity seems to have started from a truly accidental encounter. It is said that a primitive person, while digging for shellfish on the beach, happened to find a pointed seashell, pierced it into a stick, and twisted it off. This was the first interaction between screws and humanity! Later, in 1549, Francisco Xavier brought mechanical clocks to Japan for missionary activities, and it seems that the screws used in those clocks were the first to be introduced to our country. For us, screws are readily available for sale as if they are a given. Knowing that they were born and passed down in this way, I thought it would be interesting to use this as a conversation starter. Thank you for reading!
