[Measurement Example] Quantifying Competitive Adsorption

I will introduce a case study on the adsorption and desorption of polymers using surfactants.

We would like to introduce a case where SDS was added at concentrations of 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5% to dispersions of colloidal silica with and without 1% PVP adsorbed. When SDS was added to the colloidal silica with 1% PVP, the Rsp value decreased as the concentration increased, approaching the Rsp value of the dispersion containing only colloidal silica. It was suggested that PVP and SDS have a stronger binding force than silica, and that SDS has the property of chemically bonding with PVP, causing PVP to detach from silica. 【Case Summary】 ■ Experiment - SDS was added at concentrations of 0%, 1%, 3%, and 5% to dispersions of colloidal silica with and without 1% PVP adsorbed. ■ Results - The Rsp value decreased when SDS was added to the colloidal silica with 1% PVP. - It approached the Rsp value of the dispersion containing only colloidal silica. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Removing stubborn resin stains and reducing foaming...

What is a golf ball cleaner that removes stubborn resin stains and produces little foam?

【Case Study】 Company A, which operates a golf driving range, was struggling with dirt on the range balls. The resin stains fused due to friction heat with the artificial turf were difficult to remove, and the dirt that could not be cleaned with a rotary brush cleaning machine had to be handled manually. Additionally, care was needed during cleaning to prevent the large amount of foam generated from overflowing the cleaning tank. ◆ Key Points of the Issue - Want to remove resin stains caused by artificial turf - Want to reduce foaming during machine cleaning - Want to use a cleaning agent that is non-hazardous according to fire safety laws ◆ What method solved this issue? - Achieved sufficient cleaning power by selecting the best raw materials from the company's own glycol ether and amine compounds - Successfully reduced foaming by selecting low-foaming surfactants from the company's own products - Made it possible to be non-hazardous by using water-soluble raw materials ◎ With Japan's emulsifier "Mineral Series," you can achieve both cleaning power and safety. For more details, please download the document (PDF) below and feel free to contact us. We have a track record of proposals tailored to customer requests and challenges, not just for golf balls.
