A voltage is generated by the interaction of a coil and a magnet built into the impact body. The voltage, which is proportional to the speed, is transmitted to the electronic mechanism and displayed digitally as the hardness value "L." The hardness value "L" is a number obtained by multiplying the quotient of the rebound speed of the impact body divided by the impact speed by 1000.
