Types and Characteristics of Thermal Spraying

Introducing three types: "Powder Flame Spray," "Wire Flame Spray," and "Atmospheric Plasma Spray"!

We will introduce the types and characteristics of thermal spraying. "Powder Flame Spraying" is a thermal spraying method that uses materials that have been pre-processed into powder, which are then melted and sprayed onto the substrate using an oxygen-acetylene flame to form a coating. In addition, there are "Wire Flame Spraying" and "Atmospheric Plasma Spraying." 【Characteristics of Powder Flame Spraying】 ■ Uses materials that have been pre-processed into powder ■ Melts and sprays onto the substrate using an oxygen-acetylene flame to form a coating ■ Can also handle "hard alloys" *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Atmospheric plasma spraying

Due to the ability to perform thermal spraying at low temperatures around 100℃, there is no thermal impact or distortion on the base material!

"Atmospheric plasma spraying" is a spraying method that can spray all materials, including high melting point tungsten carbide and ceramics, which were difficult to spray using metallizing and thermal spray. Since the plasma flame itself is inert, it is possible to obtain pure and low-oxidation coatings even with low melting point metals like aluminum and copper. Please feel free to contact us when you need our services. 【Features】 ■ Capable of spraying high melting point materials ■ The sprayed coating is extremely dense ■ A hard and dense coating that can sufficiently resist hard plating, etc. is obtained ■ There is almost no thermal impact on the base material *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Technical Introduction: "Thermal Spraying"

It can be applied to ceramic and plastic surfaces as well!

At Daiichi Chemical Co., Ltd., we perform "thermal spraying," which involves melting metals, ceramics, and other materials using heat sources such as gas and electricity, and then spraying them onto a substrate to form a coating. In accordance with JIS and ISO standards for "corrosion protection thermal spraying," we can adjust the spraying materials based on the installation environment of the structure and the coating thickness according to the expected lifespan. Additionally, thermal spraying of stainless steel, nickel-chromium, and Hastelloy has proven to be extremely effective for the inner surfaces of chemical storage tanks. 【Features of Thermal Spraying】 ■ Wide range of materials ■ Applicable to large structures such as bridges and transmission towers, with on-site construction possible ■ Thick coatings can be relatively easily produced, and the coating process is faster compared to other surface treatment methods ■ Relatively low thermal impact on the substrate, making deformation and distortion less likely *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Cold spray device

It is a new technology for metal powder layering and metal coating. It can rapidly layer a non-oxidized film.

Cold spray is a new coating method that accelerates powder using a high-speed flow of inert gas, allowing it to collide with and deform the substrate, resulting in a strong bond and layering. Unlike thermal spraying, it layers the powder without melting it, preventing oxidation of the coating and eliminating the need to heat the substrate to high temperatures like in welding, thus avoiding thermal deformation or alteration of the substrate. Layering of various metals is possible. It allows not only the layering of metals of the same type as the substrate but also the joining of dissimilar metals and the direct deposition of metal onto ceramic substrates.

Metal surface treatment "D Coat Series" sample presentation.

The D Coat series is a coating technology. It enables the creation of black color that was not possible with conventional coating processes. Masking is also possible.

D Coat 1 A glossy, wear-resistant coating treatment. D Coat 2 A coating treatment blended with molybdenum for high wear resistance and high slip properties. D Coat 3 A non-glossy coating treatment that does not reflect light, also used for laser machines to prevent light reflection. It is also applied in the drawings of a certain company.
