Ricoh's resin identification sensor irradiates the target object with infrared light and receives the diffused reflected light to identify the resin. For resins like white, diffused reflected light can be obtained, but in the case of transparent resin, the irradiated light passes through, making it impossible to obtain diffused reflected light.
